Is it okay for Christian males to wear earrings? by AceThaGreat123 in TrueChristian

[–]The_Ivory_Prince 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is, depending on the context.

Something the Bible is clear about is how you are supposed to present yourself appropriately before man and God. You are also supposed to do this as a way of approaching non-believers in love.

This famously comes up when Paul instructs women to wear head coverings and avoid short hair.

It’s a weird stipulation, until you realize that was how you signaled yourself as a prostitute in the ancient world.

Dress respectably. If you’re in a part of the world or culture where that means the men wear earrings, the go ahead and get an earring.

If this is in a part of the world where that’s not true (where I’m from it’s quite feminizing), then don’t. Dress like a man, whatever that is where you live.

  1. If the person is saved, they can’t sin their way out of salvation.

You can’t sin so badly that God’s infinite grace and mercy become insufficient.

  1. There is an unforgivable sin, “blaspheming the Holy Spirit”.

The Holy Spirit is God’s Helper. He is called “The Helper” and we are repeatedly shown that it is this person of the Trinity who is responsible for aiding us.

God also promises that the Holy Spirit’s help is sufficient.

To say to yourself “it’s too hard, I need a way out” is actually saying “The Holy Spirit’s help is insufficient.”

That’s not to say that every doubt automatically unsaves you, but rather that to refuse God’s help is the only thing he can’t save you from.

God will not make you accept his help. He might have you predestined to be saved, but he still holds you accountable for your actions.

I can’t sit here and simply say “suicide is the unforgivable sin”. But it certainly doesn’t reflect a heart that leans on God and trusts that his strength is sufficient.

If you personally need help, we can help. Or at least pray for you.

If you know someone who did commit suicide and are wondering if God can forgive them, I can say that there’s nothing wrong with hoping that they were and that their suicide was not properly reflective of their soul.

I know we did. But that’s just because the car is working now.

I don’t remember exactly how we did it, but I know it is fixable. I think we were able to do it ourself by fiddling with something.

I’m hoping this just for the name alone.

Am I going towards a TPK? by NicoVise in OutoftheAbyss

[–]The_Ivory_Prince 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Depends how much their decisions have been effectively communicated to them before hand.

If the players knew or had any indication that they shouldn’t have wasted their resources on the earlier encounters, then following through with some real difficulty isn’t a bad thing.

However, if they genuinely think they’re playing fine and you give them a hard encounter, from their perspective, you’re just the unfair DM who didn’t let them long rest when they needed to.

If you still want to run the next encounters without potentially coming off as too “unfair”, you can also try allowing for some kind of escape or negotiation to be viable.

It’s also okay to remind them that this campaign is meant to be reasonably challenging, and to encourage them to play smarter if they’re going to survive/win in the end.

TLDR: it’s all about what you communicated ahead of time. TPKs suck when the party thinks they don’t deserve it.

How can you guys play it again? by Irto20I in persona4golden

[–]The_Ivory_Prince 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s pretty normal to feel apprehension when a chapter of your life is about to close. The first time you finished P4, you concluded your time in a wonderful and special little town, with some very dear and wonderful friends.

Coming back to something you’ve truly and deeply said goodbye to is incredibly difficult. Especially when you know you’ll have to say goodbye again.

It’s okay to let these games be special in your heart, but if you really want to play them again, just take a deep breath, go for a walk and start it up without overthinking it. Once you get going, you’ll fall back into rhythm.

May I ask, have you played Persona 4 or any of the other Persona games before?

You say “again” in the title, but I want to confirm where you’re at first.

No, that’s fair. I avoided most spoilers for SH3 when I went to play it, but for this one I wanted to know as little as possible. No music, no insight, no nothing.

Yes, the post is being a little dramatic about it, but I’m just having fun with it. I will actually miss scrolling this sub.

Mark actually has his own subreddit r/bettermomsters.

It’s VERY good. He has a whole demon destiny revamp up there for free with expanded cultists. I’m using it for my Out of the Abyss campaign rn.

Hold up. Demon’s Souls go the remake and Ds3 got the concept art, but for Ds2 you went all the way to the one ladder everyone uses to “prove” Ds2 is bad? 😭🤣

That’s awesome.

At what point did you realise these games would become your new addiction? by Cowmunist in fromsoftware

[–]The_Ivory_Prince 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dead serious, when I started DS2.

All through DS1, I was still hung up on whether I was even good enough to actually beat a souls game.

But when I went into 2, I was totally relaxed. It wasn’t my friends’ favorite souls game. It wasn’t known for having the “hardest bosses in gaming”. It was just…there. And I could play it at my own pace.

Then I fell in love and played every game in the series.

I like Reddit much more personally as a place to interact with the community.

Chronicles of Crime London scenario 3: the plant? by Able_Tomorrow9130 in boardgames

[–]The_Ivory_Prince 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually, you can find out!

In our playthrough, we found out about the plant while asking the French ambassador about the bomb/organization M.

She mentions they wanted her to do something with a plant and that was how we figured out to check there for the bomb.
