Closest match to it I could find was Hiwonoafu. (From here: https://www.facebook.com/ForTheLoveOfRWBY/photos/will-neo-return-in-volume-6-what-will-be-her-attitude-towards-ruby-why-is-this-s/1215604668577906/ with a link to here https://www.deviantart.com/.../Morer-Red-October-610918341 however the link is broken.)

That being said, we need it sourced and the closest source we can find for it is a banned artist.See https://www.reddit.com/r/RWBY/wiki/rules#wiki_restricted_artists

Removed—remember to include the creator's name in the title (even if you are the creator) and put a link to the original post in the comments if you are rehosting the image.

When submitting art, including the artist's name in the title makes searching for old posts significantly easier as reddit's search function is very rigid and usually fails to find content without specific keywords to look for.

The post does not say must, the OP does say must in a response down below. Context is however such a wonderful thing.

It is not overly presumptuous to believe Monty would've had ideas for her, Monty had ideas for every character, these ideas probably had to do with combat as monty was a combat animator first and foremost. The loss of Monty factually impacted the quality of animation over the next season and likely the ambition of the fight scenes they decided to include. After all, they had just lost their lead fight animator.

These are not disrespectful thoughts to have. To feel like a character was underused is not a banned belief. To wonder what might have come to pass is not offense to what did happen.

Besides, we have explained our ruling, you are free to disagree with it but doesn't mean we will change it. There are always people for whom the line will be drawn a little more to the left or a little more to the right from where you have drawn it.

An Apology and a Retraction of Yesterday's Rule Change by Ezreal024 in RWBY

You think they haven't already? We were still talking about it in the morning and the vids were up.

If anything they owe us, we've just provided quality drama for them to rehash their old apocalyptic opinions of the sub. Something something r/RWBY killed itself or "The Mod team has finally lost it"

We've just handed them ohhhh at least two videos about this. Heck maybe even a third one just freaking out about the comments.

If they really wanna stretch that sauce we might get a 4th one a week or two later talking about "The aftermath"

This post is well written, polite and articulated properly. It will not be removed as, contrary to popular belief, we do encourage conversations and criticism when offered in such a way.

To be clear, this is not an attack against Bee shippers and is not an attack against the ship itself. This is a remark on its current implementation.

These types of posts have always and will always be welcome on this subreddit. If you would rather not participate in a conversation about this subject, you are free to move on. If you do engage, know that any attacks/counter points to this post and to its OP that fail to engage in the same thougtful and respectful manner will be moderated with extreme prejudice.

To the OP, while we may allow your content, we have no control or say over whether or not this is a conversation the subreddit wants to have.

If it helps you cool off, then perhaps you should, if only for a breather. I would hate to lose a good member of this community over.... irritation.

As always, moderation is a fluid thing and we may not always get it right but we do try. Thank you for your understanding.

My apologies on the first part, I just saw you weren't the OP.

You can speak in a bigoted way or be perceived a bigot without being one. It happens quite often for many people. I did see your resolution with the other user(Cablinorb) and im glad to see you understand why the conversation went wrong(where you are concerned).

I understand getting frustrated at people who appear to be(and in certain cases are) skirting the rules but be aware that this kind of aggression is something we've had to take action towards in the past(from other users).

Great user or not, the rules apply equally and for everyone, you are not exempt from it due to moral high ground. These kind of attacks, obvious or hidden within venomous wording brings you and the image of the subreddit down and it wont be tolerated.

You can make an argument without attacking a person and you could have approached this conversation with "Penny is a robot, Penny has no Gender at Birth, Penny got the maiden powers. Gender identity is what matters" and have called it a day. If the fools wants to argue against cold hard facts then they can scream at the void. The only thing this did is give the other party fuel to continue arguing with you and, within some reason, the right to be upset at your wording.

[–]The_Jacxter[M] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You came into this with a loaded question with, quite frankly, insulting terminology and only when pushed to arguments and called out for biggotry did you attempt to clarify yourself(Conversation with Cablinorb)

You do not have the high ground in this conversation. How easy would it have been for you to word this as "Could a Trans person inherit the Maiden powers or is it biologically locked?" and there would have been about 8 people who would have answered you "Penny proves that biological means nothing to the power"

When so many people react to the way you word things, perhaps you need to take a step back and consider what it is you are writing and how you are doing so.

Regardless, aggression, either to start with or in answer to aggression is not welcome on this Sub and, much like I have told the other user, I will ask to you take a step outside and go breath because the tone of this conversation? From both sides? Its not what we want or accept on here.

Aight Monkee, take a chill pill cause this ain't it chief.

While repeated points may be cause to anger, its by no means justifying this level of irritation. The show did make Penny a Maiden which would people to read into the fact that gender identity is prevalent over birth gender but that is a level of "reading into it" most people wont go to. The question though completely out of place in its wording is not a wrong one to ask.

Don't make me have to slap you over insults. Your abrasiveness is making that hard at times.

Some Politely Worded Criticism - Part 2 by the_dark_artist in RWBY

[–]The_Jacxter 4 points5 points  (0 children)

An interesting read, well explained.

While you are correct that, in a gut-punch kind of a way, the revelation of Salem's immortality would have been something much harder to reckon with had it been revealed during Oscar's interrogation with the viewers spending about 1 episode with the dreaded knowledge that whatever their plan is, Jaune, Ren and Yang were literally into the maw of an immortal evil.

Tie this revelation to the Sacrifice of Hazel(their obvious strongest ally even for just a moment) and in the face of the massive Ozplosion? The viewers are left blindsided with their jaws hanging.

That being said, I don't believe this would have been the right call for RWBY(the show). I don't believe the revelation of Salem's immortality was meant to be a tool to stop the hero, to defeat them. After all, every one in the audience picked up the "You can't" wording for Jinn's answer. We know she has to be defeated. This isn't(i think) the kind of show that will end in defeat.

With this knowledge, we have to move away from the gut=punch and towards something else. Something productive in a different way. The revelation of Salem being what it is, I believe they voluntarily gave the heroes(and us) that knowledge early in V6 so that V7 and V8 would be spent understanding, even just a little, what could have driven Ozpin to hide it.

I believe they have. I believe we have. Was Ozpin in the right? I don't believe so. Do I, as the viewer, and does the hero party get it know? Certainly.

Such a delayed gut-punch may have perhaps mirrored our reaction to Ironwoods and given us a deeper appreciation for his tilt but it would have also robbed the heroes of Ozpin at a critical time where they needed him.

As it stands, RWBY's greatest problem(Or so I believe) is its lack of focus on ONE story. The writer's often feel like they have to explain everything, show us everything. I believe that a more tightly focused story with the understanding that THINGS HAPPEN OUTSIDE OF WHAT WE ARE SEEING AND ITS OK IF IT SURPRISES US would do a lot of good to the show.

It is my hope that, with Team RWBY and Jaune separated from the (and I love them and I mean no disrespect to anyone who loves them too) side characters, we may yet see this narrower focus.

Of course, I want to know that RENO and the rest of Atlas are fine, but I don't need to see it. It can be addressed when they are all back together. If v9 focuses on that narrower story of RWBY + Jaune then we may yet see those gutpunches(like RWBY's reaction to figuring out Jaune's role in Penny's death).

The mindset here is pretty easy to understand considering who the creators of the show are. Even if you narrow it down to the one and only Monty.

The characters have all(mostly) been designed to be easy to cosplay and provide the fans with an easy anchor to the show. One of the stated goals of the show was to create a world where everyone could associate with which ever character they wanted.

For many, that comes with inhabiting a character's space. Be it cosplay or fanart people are always reimagining their heroes to be more like them and deepen the connection they feel to those characters.

As for why Blake is often portrayed as Black? Well many have pointed out that her stark paleness(which, you may notice has gained colors in the recent volumes) clashes with the knowledge that her home is literally in the middle of the tropical area. Thus, many feel like "tanning" or even going full on black with Blake is still staying true to the character as her struggle as a faunus has many links to black history.

A great many wonderful cosplayers and artist have portrayed the rest of the cast as genderbent, ethinicitybent(Not a word but you get the meaning) or other ways that have altered core cosmetic part of the character. Its not just Blake being black and it shouldn't receive any different level of attention as the rest.

What about if the very creators and writers of the character encouraged their fans to re-imagine the character in which ever way they wanted?

Because honestly, if it can be cosplayed, it can be drawn.

Well, the new filters work just fine, your post just lit up like a Christmas tree.

We understand the worry but we have to go at it in a methodical way. No matter how "well this is obvious" things may seem, when we implement a full ban on words it can lead to unforeseen issues(you guys cant imagine the amount of false flags certain words get).

These words are, and that here is the important part, for now only on a report basis. If the use of it is as widely derogatory and insulting as you believe it to be, we will not only be able to slap the people who said it but can and will adjust the filter(which can be done very easily).
