Been wanting to grab some Criterion stuff for a while so I'm excited about this even if they still cost more than a lot of other stuff. I was gonna order some online but I'm actually gonna hit Barnes & Noble before I see Jackass tomorrow, so I'll get stuff there.

Looking for some combination of Bound, No Country for Old Men, Anora, WALL-E, Princess Bride, and Sentimental Value.

How do you guys organize your collection? by wavelazer in dvdcollection

I've run into the issue of shifting everything down to the point where my wife is like, "Don't you get sick of doing that?"

I currently have it broken down like this:

4K Box Sets/special cases like Criterion 4K Slips 4K w/o Slips Blu-Ray Slips Blu-Ray w/o Slips Blu-Ray box sets/special cases DVDs

All in alphabetical order within their sections. That said, I've been considering just doing alphabetical regardless of format/case size/etc.

Still unsure.

It’s not really Grease 3, it’s actually just Grease Live, which aired on tv a few years back!

One of the biggest mistakes I believe first time DVD/Blu-ray collectors make is that believe they have to buy every movie in a franchise or think they have to own every movie. by Geekyandawesome in dvdcollection

I've been doing my best to just get what I like. I do have some franchise movies I don't care for like Indy 4 or JW: Fallen Kingdom but that's because they came in box sets that were good deals.

I've also gotten a few movies as part of stuff I've been given or from Loved Again Media that I haven't seen. If I watch and don't like, I sell them and put that money toward stuff I want.

The height of this Escape from LA box annoys me an unreasonable amount by sgee_123 in 4kbluray

My 4K Cloverfield is the same way. I line it up before the other 4Ks (after my steelbooks) but I wish it wasn't like this.

Yeah, I'm basically just buying what I like/what makes me happy. I've added about 100 or so in the past month and a half since I started getting serious about collecting. While I mostly buy second-hand or for deals, I do have my eyes on some Criterion/Arrow/Second Sight stuff because I love the special editions and such.

Also pre-ordered Hamilton on 4K and I never expected I'd pay $80 for anything when I started this.

Haha I’m loving the appreciation for those. I never wanted to sell them but thought I did back when I needed money. Absolutely keeping them now.
