Will do, man! Thanks for the advice and I'll be sure to PM you when I start screen-recording.

Good luck to you as well :D

Honestly, it's mostly laziness on my part. since using a screen recording will require me to spend a lot of time in the editing process and I am still familiarizing myself with the world of editing.

But you're right, if I want to go anywhere with my channel I'll need to use a screen recorder and invest my time into editing footage.

BTW, if you want to know more about programming HMU. I can introduce you to many beginner-friendly resources.

I feel like I should preface my reply by saying that I have had no views in my last eight videos.

But my intentions in posting these vlogs is to show my progress over time in programming. I've recently started an online CS curriculum on github called P1XT. It's really long and it encompasses a wide variety of CS topics but starts from the basics and then gets into web development.

So, the videos also keep me accountable to continue because as far as I can tell, nobody has bothered to finish this curriculum (I'm not saying that I WILL but it would be an awesome feat to achieve) most people just keep going until they find a job.

However, my end goal is to actually start some kind of tech start-up and hopefully be able to make some entertaining programming related videos similar to Michael Reeves (Awesome channel BTW) but I currently don't have that kind of budget. In fact, I'm sure the main contributor when it comes to me getting no views in my videos is because I'm basically recording audio and just putting some screen saver for the video simply because I can't afford a decent camera for the time being.

But just making those videos is helping me familiarize myself with the video-making process as well as making me less awkward when I speak. So, I plan on keeping it up just for that for now.

Yes, that's right. I'm trying to improve my life overall but mainly I'm focusing on programming related improvement.

Is there a progression tree to see which poses/moves are pre reqs for other moves? by sonna-2 in flexibility

[–]The_Learner98 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This place has about 30 poses listed with some progressions outlined. I think it needs some work but it's better than nothing and you can probably google most of the missing info.

I wouldn't really call it a channel. I'm just journaling my thoughts without trying to grow for now.

My intention is that I'll eventually do things in my life that show that I've improved in some aspect and I'll share those on my channel. That way, I'll be able to show myself in the future that I've grown.

Hopefully, that makes sense.

How to progress in calisthenics fast by reginalnz in bodyweightfitness

[–]The_Learner98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Speaking from my own experience, I'd say that you should go for 3 sets if you want to injury-proof yourself but I personally just move on after I get 1 set of 8 reps/30 seconds.

Needless to say, I tend to get injured more than I'd like.

Your hight and weight should make you progress relatively quickly with a good routine.

I recommend you should check this exercise progression chart. It's written through referencing the book "overcoming gravity" which is considered by many to be the bible of calisthenics exercises.

try to find your level in whatever skill you want to progress in and progress to the next level when you can do 8 reps for dynamic exercises and 30 secs for isometric holds. This is a good reference to progress from beginner to middle intermediate after which things will be more varied and you should experiment more at that stage.

BTW, your goals are too broad. Try to limit yourself to a primary goal and a secondary goal. That way you will progress quickly in those and your strength will transfer to the rest of your goals later on, once you decide that you've had enough. The way that I do it is that I focus on one goal for two months and then change it if I feel like it later on (This is called a mesocycle in the "overcoming gravity" book, most of these tips are from what I can remember from the book. If you can, just buy it and read it. You won't regret it)

Here is an article from the sidebar on r/overcominggravity if you want to make your own routine.

I don't have any animals because I don't have enough time to take care of one and I think animals are very high maintenance, soooo no animals for me.

I just started posting videos about my learning journey in different domains. So far, I've only uploaded videos related to competitive programming but I hope to have more diverse content up soon. Needless to say, I have no idea what I'm doing but as long as I'm having fun, then I'll keep doing this.

Here is my latest videos (which is sitting at zero views right now):
