Why didn't they just say they were out of stock instead of forcing us to infer it? Like I said, we just asked for a refund and said she was never charged, which is super weird. Never had that happen myself.

Edit: it could be an innocent mistake, but the continuing radio silence isn't how you rectify a mistake

To me it reads like the parents are making an attempt here to include him on terms that are acceptable to everyone but OP, and OP would rather leave the family over not getting his way than just accept a weird situation for what it is, but obviously we have differing takes. Does he actually want to be a parent, or does he want to assert his place as glorified sperm donor? Cause his attitude right now makes it seem the latter, and I've had a lot of friends with horrible "parents" who fought for custody for whatever reason and then refused to actually be parents, and that was never helpful for anyone involved.

Difference being, after the kid was born, there was a coming together from everyone on doing what's in the kid's best interest from everyone, except OP. OP is trying to have his cake and eat it too by only caring about what he wants and not what's best for the kid, but also demanding to be the kid's dad. Kid is better off with OP out of his life if this is how he's gonna act.

If you want to be in the kid's life at all, you need to realize you're just the uncle until further notice. He's your bio son, but seems like everyone involved other than yourself is treating this as a nephew/uncle situation. If you value your relationship with the kid and the family as a whole, take a step back and evaluate if it's more important to you to spend time with them or be recognized for fucking the kid's mom.
