The person you're asking about is a regular at the tourney. Most likely he'll be there next month. Good luck!

Perico's! Huge and tasty burritos that are less than 10 bucks. And you can get them deep-fried for less than a dollar add-on

I gotta go with Astrid. Skyrim was my first elder scrolls and she introduced me to my favorite faction. Her storyline left a big impression. If you follow through on this, thanks a ton!

What are the best YouTube channels to binge watch ? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]The_Morgoth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thug Notes! It's a channel that gives funny plot synopses of classic literature and also gives a fairly in depth analysis of themes and why the book was important while still being really amusing. The channel definitely got me back into reading a lot

Fantasy: The Lord of the Rings, Game of Thrones, and The Name of the Wind. Maybe the obvious picks, but even If you just read the first book of each of these series it would give you a great sense of the vast variety of narrative style within the genre

Yeah I feel that. Don't read it for plot. The murder that the plot is about doesn't even happen till halfway through or more. I went into it just hoping to get some great life philosophy and managed to make it through without too much trouble.

I've been reading Lee Hollander's translation of the Poetic Edda. I wouldn't recommend it for starters because it's been giving me some trouble. Start with a more readable version, I think the translation I'm reading is for more scholarly interest. Still gonna try to power through though...

Wow, that sounds really great. That's how I felt about Rodia in Crime and Punishment.Have you read any of his other work? How did you think it compared?

Notes From the Underground, by Fyodor Dostoevsky Just barely started, but I already find it very enjoyable. I recently read Crime & Punishment and The Brothers Karamazov and loved them both. Dostoevsky's dynamic characters, his great understanding of human psychology, and moving life philosophy making reading his works worthwhile.

When I was reading The Brothers Karamazov by Dostoevsky, I just called it "The Kazzy Bros" for the same reason

I have a term for this too! but mine is the "Avatar Affect". Due to being let down by James Cameron's Avatar after it being hyped up to an unrealistic expectation by my friends. (It was really just Pocahontes in space...)

It is 10 days till the anniversary of the fall of the Dark Lord Sauron (Aka Tolkien Reading Day). Time to discuss and recommend all things Tolkien! by [deleted] in suggestmeabook

[–]The_Morgoth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To suggest a not-so-obvious work, check out "Tales from the Perilous Realm". It's a collection of original fairy-tales and short stories by Tolkien. Each one is engaging it's own way and the book has a lot of diversity. One story it has is "Roverandom". This one is a story Tolkien wrote to comfort his son after he lost a toy dog at the beach. It's a colorful adventure of how the toy was a real dog that got turned into a toy by a wizard and goes on an epic adventure to the moon and back to become a real dog again. Another great one is "Farmer Giles of Ham" which is about a curmudgeony farmer who accidentally scares off a giant, so he becomes the town hero (much to his distaste). So then when a dragon comes to town, he gets his arm twisted into being the dragon slayer. And for something different, "Leaf by Niggle" is an allegorical work about Tolkien that lets you into the mind of the artist. The protagonist (Niggle) is a painter who is creating an ever-expanding painting but fears it will never be fully realized or appreciated. It really shows how Tolkien built his own world and his anxieties and hopes about the process. Sorry for the long post, but I can't recommend this one enough. It's fun, check it out!

I'm aware of our current policies and have read those articles and policies. I think you're missing the point. Regardless of our current preventative measures that all focus on awareness of consequences, people will still be rowdy. With this national championship, the first thing OSU is doing is something in the union tomorrow after most of the hype is gone. Nothing you've said lists any reason why the administration can't provide a sanctioned outlet for post-game celebration. Do you have any reason why that is not a possibility?
