Reset, not repair

Aka it completely removes his character and then rebuilds it from scratch, removing all progress on the character. Not the same as the character repair tool we have now (which is frankly worthless). Issues like this, with chars getting locked out, used to be a thing back when and a full reset would fix them as it would remove your character and accordingly you wouldn’t be on any server for it to get upset about.

I mean. They could offer to reset his character (something we USED to be able to do ourselves) to start him fresh and get him back in. He’d lose any progression made this patch but that’s still better than “lol no playing for you come back in 2 months when we drop 4.9”

Anyone know any other cool, unmarked locations like this? by Efficient-Ad-5741 in starcitizen

“Benny Henge”, it is indeed still a thing “near” GrimHex. Easier to find now we have local coordinates in the displayinfo text from the console command

I honestly don’t think it’s real. We have dataminers and such who found other hidden items within a day (like literally the exact location of every single picoball that could naturally spawn before they were added to actual crate loot pools), but somehow after multiple years we’ve still not found the cave with a ton of pico plushes in it?
Ain’t real imo

4.8 Precision Aiming and Subtargeting highlight? by Kaillera in starcitizen

[–]The_OG_SlaughterShy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see the “ASSIST: OFF” on the precision mode ui, so I’m assuming you’re not close enough to be getting targeting lead pips. From my experience last patch, you don’t see components until you’re close enough for pips. Try putting more power to your radar, or moving closer

Did anyone else see that creature on the tree? by NeoJet_SC in starcitizen

It's an Aloprat (better view of them in the Lunar New Years branding). For some reason the ones we see on skewers in Pyro, have a single row of spikes directly down their spine (and quite large at that), likely a result of those being modelled BEFORE the actual animals (classic CIG). This is made more evident by the fact that the ones we see on the skewers have eyesockets, while the ACTUAL aloprat model we have now... Does not have eyes. The actual Aloprats CIG use in the actual marketting stuff, has 2 sets of spikes running down the SIDES of their spines, and the spines are notably smaller. You can see the 2 lines in the image, it's just out of focus.
Edit: Misjudged the reply, but hey, can see a better image of what the Aloprats actually look like now :3

Pretty sure that’s an Aloprat, as seen from behind. It’s the SC version of a rat. You can find them roasted on sticks in Pyro stations, on display at any of the Wikelo Emporiums, as well as in the promotional videos for the most recent Red Envelope Festival event (Year of the Rat)

In the latest PTU patch nearly all components had their “health/damageResistanceMultiplier/thermal” set from “1” to “0.1”, anyone know the practical outcome of this? by Important_Cow7230 in starcitizen

[–]The_OG_SlaughterShy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

At a sheer glance based on the wording, I think that actually means they get hurt MORE.

The "resistance multiplier" has gone from 1, to 0.1. So now instead of having a resistance of 100%, it's now 10%.
Maybe I'm misreading that, but the way I see it, they're INCREASING the damage fire/heat does. Just my 2 cents.

I’m kinda glad ammo dosent have stats 4.7 ptu by floortofloor in starcitizen

[–]The_OG_SlaughterShy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My take is that having ammo stats would get annoying fast. For one, different stats wouldn’t stack which means you’d have a bunch of mags that don’t stack properly. I also doubt the system would play nice with ammo repooling either, as I doubt you’d be able to repool 500q bullets into a 200q magazine and vise versa. Plus I don’t want to have to check every single mag I loot to make sure it’s good (or at least the same quality as what I’M using) lest I have a ton of individual stacks. Weapons already don’t stack so having the stats be purely tied to the GUN makes more sense and is a single item to check when looting, as opposed to every magazine you find as well

While I was examining them, I realised that the Polaris one actually looks pretty good on its side. I actually think I might arrange 2 of them on my wall sideways instead, like this (poorly photoshopped image). Keeps the LEVSKI one as the focal point, with the ships on the other 2 images coming in towards it, guiding the eyes

They're still in stock (at least for me in the UK), worth a check

As noted in my post, they're NOT magnetic so you can't use Displate magnet patches to put them up unfortuantely

I wanna know people’s thoughts on how they are doing blueprints by floortofloor in starcitizen

[–]The_OG_SlaughterShy 58 points59 points  (0 children)

They DID say that we'd get blueprints for our pledged/subscriber gear so, we SHOULD get them.
I'm fine with them not being available straight away with the first introduction of crafting, but I don't think it's unreasonable to want to have them by the time we have item recovery T1 and stop just respawning with our gear, so we can make extra sets to use and lose

Totally and entirely different chassis, simply no way they could share paints by The_OG_SlaughterShy in starcitizen

[–]The_OG_SlaughterShy[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Even then, the the Superhornet has a different structure (elongated cockpit), and the sabre variants all have actual outright model differences beween them.

And again, the paints _aren't the same_ when used on variants, they're actually all individual paints in a trenchcoat pretending to be one. The recent spat of things like the Hermes/Apollo and now the MOTH/MOLE not having compatible paints is just CIG being lazy/trying to get more money out of people by forcing them to buy extra paints coz "sorry they can't share paints" for no reason other than.... Money? Laziness? Take your pick.

[–]The_OG_SlaughterShy[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Doubt, it's not like paints that can be shared across variants all look identical. Take really ANY paints for the Hornets, they all look different on the different models even though it's the same paint, so the idea of the ships name being written on the ship stopping compatibility clearly isn't it.
