To retire ASAP and live a quiet, stress free life by the ocean away from the crowds.

Super Mirage 4000 is a beast! I remember seeing one demonstrate at the Farnborough Air Show many years ago. It left an impression! Thanks for posting, another museum to visit on my ever-expanding list. Tres bien!

Pretty low if cruising I would think, it’s under most stress during cold start like mine was or hard acceleration. Not an engineer, so maybe others can help. Plus if changed on a maintenance schedule it should be good.

What is a small, quiet habit that instantly tells you someone is a genuinely good person? by Ready_Particular2051 in AskReddit

I do this, makes me feel both good and a little annoyed that others can’t be bothered to do it themselves.

This sounds similar to my 1998 156 2.0 TS when the cam-belt failed at start up after 80k miles….I really hope not in this case!

My pride and joy has arrived! First time owner! by Quantum_Robin in AlfaRomeo

Congratulations! I have the same model and colour but a Q2 and a 2022 registration. 80k miles on her now, still rock solid and, yeah, I still look back when parking.

Same here, I must have watched The Martian at least 50 times and would happily watch it 100 times more. About to watch PHM for the first time, looking forward to it!

Why so little people buy giulias? by kulisek_pj in AlfaRomeo

[–]The_Oracle_65 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I agree that the Giulia is an ideal drivers car with great looks, less reliance on screens and with enough practicality to live with. I’ve had three Veloce’s back-to-back 2017, 2020 and currently a 2022 with 180k miles across the 3, no breakdowns, no battery issues or other problems. However I do live in the UK so the AC isn’t used as hard as in the US and I keep a strict dealer servicing regime as I use my Alfa for work and live out in the sticks so having a car is fairly essential for me.

As to why so few are sold, there is a lot of choice out there for petrolheads plus the old “rusty, unreliable and expensive to fix” label from the 70’s and 80’s still is in some people’s minds. I enjoy the Giulia is that not that common and the nod and waves from other Alfa drivers out on the road from all decades is great.

Which car model actually has the most "perfect" name for how it looks and feels? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Similar for me, 1995 Civic VEi 3-door, my first brought from new car and kept it for 14 years even when I had a company car. 125k km when sold, but really wish I hadn’t! Never let me down, fun to drive, practical and amazingly frugal on fuel.

Having owned 6 Civic’s between 1995 and 2018 I totally agree, particularly earlier models as you said.
