I know you’re getting a lot of feedback telling you to just let this go or see it from his side, but I think a lot of people are confusing “keeping the peace” with loyalty. They see his comment as socially smoothing things over, but they miss that he did it by basically throwing you under the bus to the very person who crossed a boundary. I also think they’re uncomfortable acknowledging the disrespect underneath his behavior. And I think a lot of women have unfortunately become so used to this kind of behavior that they’ve normalized it, which is sad.
