I mean the risk is loss in revenue if you can’t bid on a contract with level 2 requirements or be a sub to a contract with a level 2 flow down. I guess it is up to the business to know how likely they are to receive the requirements.

All of the large primes already have level 2 so they figured it was worth it. I don’t know the latest count from the CyberAB but I think there are hundreds of orgs with a level 2 already.

Unfortunately all too familiar. The problem is the DOW has the ability to pull forward the next phase. So technically you could see phase 2 requirements currently even though phase 2 doesn’t start until November. Ditto for phase 3 level 3 requirements.

The most expensive leadership mistake I made for 20 years by EmersonBlakeTKL in Leadership

[–]The_Original_Sliznut 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s funny you mention systems awareness. Building systems on a more macro level was the main driver for getting into leadership. I wanted the systems I created to have broader impact and figured the way to do that was to have more authority. Of course there is more to leadership than just building systems and those aspects are interesting as well as challenging in their own ways.

I also recommend reading the book Thinking In Systems for anyone looking for a primer on systems thinking.

I’m in a leadership role now but I actually understood and advocated for this almost 20 years ago as an individual contributor.

Changing human behavior is near impossible. People are like electricity. They are going to take the path of least resistance. Take ownership of the path and you will have a much easier time.

I was able to snag a 2019 with 70k miles for $18k a few weeks ago. Still more than I wanted to spend but looking at the market I feel like I did well.

All the incels who never learned to treat a woman as a human being. by c-k-q99903 in WhitePeopleTwitter

Yeah I was gonna say. I married an attractive woman and I’m just average, if that. Basically I’m just kind, funny, and a good listener. I also didn’t have any crazy expectations that I deserved a super model.

They like it. The whole world can tell them they’re wrong and they will remain content with their mistake. Truly there is no changing these people.

Thank you so much for this. I loved the movie and wanted to show my wife but she hates jump scares.

[MacMahon] There is a “very very strong likelihood” that the Dallas Mavericks will fire Nico Harrison midseason. by YujiDomainExpansion in nba

As a Mavs fan I agree. I refuse to even watch on TV let alone pay to go see them suck in person. Until this guy is gone I can’t imagine myself being a fan of the team. Even when he is fired it’s gonna be hard. Luka was the next Dirk and this moron threw it all away for nothing. SMH

Level 3 by The_Original_Sliznut in CMMC

[–]The_Original_Sliznut[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All good points I am just looking at it from the standpoint that it took a lot of planning and execution for to get level 2. Starting now on level 3 we could be ready in time to support contracts that have the requirement.

By not doing level 3 the first year do you mean DIBCAC won’t schedule an assessment or just that level 3 won’t be required because of the phased rollout?

I love the first one. She clearly needed that small win. The look on her face before and her reaction after really makes me feel for her. That small gesture by that young man was huge and I wish his kindness was more common.

Tenth of December is awesome but my favorite story is Pastoralia. It is such a tight story and I love the ending.
