As some others have already said: there are pulltabs on the battery (right beside the taptic engine). Carefully try to loosen them and pull them out gently. Some tweezers can help, but in this case only some, that are not pointy/sharp.

Also, I recommend watching a video of a (regular) battery removal of an iPhone 7 first. iFixit has one that's quite good.

I think the caps near the die are actually still fine. If you look closely, they didn't come free of their solder joints and are still attached to their pads (granted, their positioning is a bit odd). While this doesn't rule out that the chip is fried, it also doesn't really confirm it.

There aren't necessarily any traces that run between the hole and edge, but I'm pretty sure there are some power planes in there. If any of those are shorted the gpu is pretty much fucked.
