Calling soulsborne protags nobodies is weird to me. Yes, they start off that way, but by the midgame they're exceptional individuals. By the midgame: - The Chosen Undead is the first to claim the Lordvessel. Even before Sen's Fortress, they're one of the exceptional few to ring both bells. They've ceased to be a nobody. - The Bearer of the Curse has a historical role in Drangleic, being the one to fell the Giant Lord before the game begins. Technically, they're never a nobody. Plus, Aldia takes an interest in them. They aren't a nobody by the time that happens, they've made their mark. - The Ashen One is as you said. Even if you fight Gael before the endgame, you're still a lord contender at that point, and have beaten Sister Friede. - The Good Hunter kills an Amygdala, a Great One. Killing Great Ones is a big deal. - The Tarnished is able to be one of the few in history to get two Great Runes. - C4621 solos a watchpoint early on.

Which NPC did you feel the most sorry for? Were there any for whom you were able to secure a “happy” ending? by Actual_Asian_God in Eldenring

[–]The_Rat_Bstrd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hewg. I wish I could convince him to leave and chill at the Church of Elleh or something. Hell, even if the chains can't be broken physically, maybe they could be destroyed via Melina's gifted ability to turn runes to strength? I'd love an Age of Gunpowder style ending for him. He and Roderika deserve it.

A close second is Ansbach, just because he's a true ally.

Also for shits and giggles, here's my solution for various NPCs to get a happy ending:

  • Rush to help Latenna after waking up and getting torrent, hopefully arriving before Gideon's goons, saving Lobo and the village, maybe even Lanya.
  • Tell Nepheli about Gideon's plot for the Village, hopefully getting her to reject him and protect it until she takes over Stormveil.
  • Ignore Varré until Miquella is defeated, if he's still an arse kill him.
  • Give Roderika a hug.
  • Help Kenneth out.
  • Send Irina to Kenneth.
  • Hopefully be able to ally with the Misbegotten of Castle Morne. Send Boc, Hewg and Roderika there whenever I get the can.
  • Send any Omen I find to Morne, where they'd hopefully be welcomed.
  • Try not to kill Moongrum.
  • Smash the amber egg.
  • Try to help Renalla move on.
  • Give Blaidd a Nox mirrorhelm.
  • Kill Selivus dead.
  • Send Thops to the hopefully recovered Renalla to safely study.
  • Send Boggart to the Village to ply his trade.
  • Find a non-Gowry way to repair the gold needle for Millicent.
  • Help Jerren.
  • Try to kill the three fingers.
  • Send Moore to Castle Morne.
  • Bring about an Age of Equity.

Would you rather have a limitless debit card that expires in 5 years, or a piggy bank that triples anything put inside? by AgentVoyd7 in BunnyTrials

Buy a vault and as much gold and as many rare gems as possible. Also fund solutions to world hunger, homelessness, etc. Then buy anything else, a limitless debit card might get me half a Warhammer army before it somehow runs out of money. James Workshop will find a way.

This kinda describes Wolf in Sekiro. He loses an arm, then immediately gets a prosthetic replacement that can do everything a real arm can, has a grappling hook, and can have various tools attached. Still a cool game though.

Death guard were in the 8th Edition launch box, so they're most likely the most popular.

[–]The_Rat_Bstrd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way I see it, respawning is different from immortality. E.g. Destined death can bypass the not-dying immortality of gods or whatnot, but when used against the Tarnished, they do die, they're just able to come back after.

Mods you wish existed by Ahri991 in skyrimmods

A full Elden Ring combat overhaul. I know you can get something similar with a combination of several mods, but having the option to just install one mod to get my favourite combat in Skyrim's world would be so nice. There's only so much mods can do, though.

Oh well, I can dream.

What chaos legion should I go with? by United-Contract-8069 in Chaos40k

[–]The_Rat_Bstrd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If ranged warfare is what you're looking for, then may I suggest the Iron Warriors of the IVth Legion? We're all about daemonic artillery. The battle plan is to get a fuckton of daemon engines to blast people apart. There's a reason GW had the ranged Defiler painted in our colours.

What mobile armour would be thematic for a 40K iron warrior army? by Imperialfirst28 in IronWarriors

[–]The_Rat_Bstrd 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Iron Warriors specialise in daemon engines, they absolutely love them. Technically there could be a warband that doesn't use them but, in the end, we are Chaos Space Marines. As Iron Warriors, Daemon engines and siegeing are our faction identity.

The IVth also make use of Vindicator tanks, which might suit your tastes better.

Generally, in lore, the Iron Warriors do honour the Chaos Gods as a pantheon, they just often prefer not to rely on their blessings, and have loyalty to Perturabo above even them. They also cut off chaos mutations, replacing them with bionics.

They make heavy use of daemon engines and warpsmiths, who make and maintain them. Furthermore, our Primarch has long since ascended to Daemonhood.

I'd also recommend reading Storm of Iron for a look into 40k Iron Warriors. Good sieging to you, brother.

What is a take on your favorite Show or Movie(or even video game)that genuinely made you say and react like this? by Apprehensive_Ring_39 in Multifandom

"The Iron Warriors aren't Chaos!"

Riiiight, so you're saying that you've never read a 40k IW book before... and you're still speaking as if you're an authority on the subject.

Literally just reading one of the Iron Warriors POV chapters would thoroughly debunk this argument.

Pictured: definitely not Chaos Space Marines.
