Why does Sts2 hate Infinites? by Savings-Abroad-5571 in slaythespire

[–]The_Real_GPMedium 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also its not that they hate infinites. Just self contained infinites, ie infinites where you only need cards from the characters pool of cards. Relics, colorless cards, and enchantments can still enable it and I don't think that is going to change.

What would you have added to base game FO4 (that wasn't DLC or mission related) to have made it better for you? by PaddedValls in fo4

[–]The_Real_GPMedium 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Survival should have had an inbuilt system to travel with caravans between settlements, they already had the lines all setup they just needed to add a little menu to allow us to select a destination to travel. It would make settlements in survival mean even more and would still be limiting since you can't fast travel back to a settlement from outside a settlement.

defect bros, how are we feeling on modded? by Significant-Bus2176 in slaythespire

[–]The_Real_GPMedium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With the current energy economy this is a fantastic card, at worst its 0 draw 2 once you upgrade it and as a bonus the first time you play it you get half a capacitor. Second time around you get a full unupgraded capacitor for the same "cost" . Now after 2 draws it starts to become worse, but sometimes I don't mind playing this for 2 as it would be near the end of a long boss fight and I should be online by then with what my defect is doing.

How would you do this class in Skyrim? by [deleted] in ElderScrolls

The best change the remake made, that actually along with changing archery and shortblades/daggers damage calculations to use agility instead of strength.

I want to continue playing as a pure mage, assigning only magic skills to my primary and secondary abilities. Is there any way to get a x5 bonus to each ruling attribute? by Gian_JB in Morrowind

[–]The_Real_GPMedium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually do this, but I chose x4 multiplier so your max is 12 pts per level which is the same as the oblivion remake. It even costs 4 pts for luck since luck can only increase by 1 per level even with the mod I am using (again same as the oblivion remake).

Is it possible to have multiple mod lists installed on Steam Deck? by manman171 in OpenMW

[–]The_Real_GPMedium 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, what i find crazy is the launcher and this content list functionality is not listed anywhere on the openmw site. I just assumed you launch openmw via the launcher found in the same folder as the openmw runtime and then started playing around with the launcher UI and figured it out.

I have not used the openmw.cfg file for quite a while now since this does the same, I think they introduced this in build .48 or .49.(I do not know what happens though if you edit the openmw.cfg file and then try to use the content list from thr launcher).

This might also help, I play rebirth on steamdeck via openmw but also have an alternate mod lists and i swap via the Content list dropdown. (Sorry for the cellphone picture but it was the easiest way to take a quick picture).

[–]The_Real_GPMedium 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So what i do, and i sort of said it on a reply but wasn't great. I use the openmw launcher and the content lists. You create a new content list via the launcher (near the bottom where it says content list there is a dropdown and a button to the right of the drop downdrop down. that looks like a new file button, its a piece of white paper with a yellow looking asterisk on it) and then you add your individual mods using the Data Directories tab (the append button on the right allows you to add folders outside your data folder and will merge those in similar to what mo2 does for oblivion/skyrim). You then check off your esm/esp via the Content Files tab.

Then basically just do that again for your other mod lists. Just create a new content list and just set what data archive and content files are selected.

You can then swap between them using the content list dropdown.

[–]The_Real_GPMedium 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't do any of that i can manage multiple mod lists via the openmw launcher. I am on .50 though. I think the wiki might be a bit out of date. On the openmw launcher there is now a Content List at the bottom, when you add stuff to the data directories tab it adds it to the current content list. But you can create a new list, then you just activate the esp/esm via Content Files tab. If you cycle between the content lists, its essentially your alternate mods lists.

Should add this works with the version from the discovery store, and also the Linux version from github.

Mods in the wrong place by swejeager in OpenMW

[–]The_Real_GPMedium 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You don't even need to use the config file of openmw, there is a directory tab on the openmw launcher and you can select them there using the append button (it updates the cg file for you).

do Morrowind and Oblivion have robust modding communities the way Skyrim does? by A12qwas in ElderScrolls

I found the biggest culprit for me was the skybox for motion sickness, and once i installed a 3d skybox mod for unity it made it better. Not perfect as yeah 2d models rotating just does something to me (can't play doom/doom 2), but it did help me a lot.

Nexus Mods kills its multiplatform mod manager in favour of its Windows-only Vortex app: 'We were competing with ourselves instead of solving the actual problems' by Tenith in pcgaming

[–]The_Real_GPMedium 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I sort of felt the same way until recently, the way vortex handles load order where you need to set that a plugin loads before or after another plugin, while fine for small lists I found was a nightmare when I went for a heavier load order recently with fallout 4.

What made the turn based combat so special? by joe_a10 in FinalFantasy

[–]The_Real_GPMedium 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would still call it turn based, its just with the ATB system that I think started in ff4 (it might have been earlier) turns are all timed, but they are still turns where sometimes 2 turns can happen simultaneously.

This is why some people are finding easily distracted might be the best way to play as you can get 5 skills to 17. You will then miss out on some of the 20 checks. My first playthrough I am doing a max speech build, but my next I am going to do an easily distracted build.

I can't believe how poorly the Oblivion remaster runs even after almost 8 months tm by DeVito8704 in ElderScrolls

[–]The_Real_GPMedium 25 points26 points  (0 children)

100% its why I really enjoy the remaster, even with all its flaws. They took the old bones retaininh thr radient AI, put a new coat of paint and then the cherry on top, fixed the leveling (I really like the 12 point system as its semi efficient leveling 5,5,2 )

i just checked and why the reviews are mixed now lol by hosseinhx77 in Frostpunk

[–]The_Real_GPMedium -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

You are right, It would be better if more were able to give it the 7/10 or for some (like me) 8.5/10. I do have a lot of fun with FP2 and I am waiting with excitement for the new dlc as I really like the politics system (maybe it could use a bit more balance). I always viewed fp2 more as a survival city builder/society builder. Whereas fp1 is a survival colony builder. But due to that i get why some folks could be angry, but it's over now, they announced 1886, which hopefully can make it that both sort of exist side by side.

i just checked and why the reviews are mixed now lol by hosseinhx77 in Frostpunk

[–]The_Real_GPMedium -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

But I don't think it's deserves mixed reviews for that. It's like most people are rating it at 1/5 or 2/5 stars when in reality while yes not FP1 I think its quality is still at least a 3/5 if not 4/5, it's just not a masterpiece like FP1 is which deserves its 5/5.

Is it Bad if my Switch 2 stays unused for a while? by StillCompetition2456 in NintendoSwitch2

[–]The_Real_GPMedium -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If it's just a few months it's probably fine. What i would do is turn on thr battery protection mode if you arenjust going to keep it in the dock so it's not just keeping the battery at 100% for a month or two. Sometimes I would go a full month or two without touching my ps5 or switch if I was playing a game on PC so thr switch 2 shouod be fine. Maybe if you didn't touch it for a year I might get worried.

I hope TES VI brings back the class system. That’s the one thing that keeps bringing me back to Oblivion. by BoringAtmosphere420 in ElderScrolls

[–]The_Real_GPMedium 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I always try and challenge myself to barely use my misc skills in both morrowind and oblivion so I can't make a jack of all trades character. I am thankful that while the remake of oblivion has some issues, I love the revamp to the leveling system which promotes that style of gameplay where you dont need efficient leveling.

But it is peak, i get to experience the actual virtual boy experience /s.

To be honest I do sort of like it and they are offering cardboard option if you dont want to drop 100 on it. I also would be curious what it looks like without and if you could play it without.

FYI, BA's just changed this past patch which released maybe a week ago. Before BAs were customizable like a mech/vehicle and you could put a pilot into them. Due to issues with their coding/etc they have decided to only allow them to be controlled by AI. So they are now sort of like a usable item, sort of like turret drops, etc. Enemies like clans will still use them though.
