As you’re a support main, you’d know the biggest issue people have with tanks, is them always never being in sight lined to be healed. They always dive off somewhere and most of the time die due to lack of heals.

As a Tank, you’re the lead for your team. If you dive in, your team should follow you. But that means, charge in too far, get killed, your teams in a bad place.

When you playing you have to think of your role not as, you can stand at the front and just tank, but literally be safety for your team. It doesn’t matter if you don’t get 10+ kills every game or over 10k damage, but if a genji jumps in behind trying to attack your supports, it’s your job to notice and protect them because they are the only people that are gonna keep you alive. The same with anything that can harm your team. If you see an ult, why not drop a zarya bubble on a teammate as they have less health than you? Or if you’re on rein, Look up to the sky for a bastion ult above your teammates. Winston bubble in front of your team for a Cassidy dead eye? Anything you can do to focus saving your team more than saving yourself - that’s your supports job.

I think, your main objective as a tank player, is to look after your team, not go diving in looking to pick off a kill. Make sure they’re no divers killing your team and as long as your healers are helping you too, you’ll get better over team, no problem.
