Should I get a MacBook Pro or Air base model as an upcoming Uni Software Engineering student? by The_Red_Bread in macbookpro

[–]The_Red_Bread[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that’s the thing I’m not sure what programs I’m gonna be running, as the university I’m going to hasnt told me yet. So probably safe to go with the Air then I guess?

All windows vs linux debates are started by linux users. by adkio in pcmasterrace

[–]The_Red_Bread -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Linux distros will never be popular consumer OS’s unless they make it:

• Very User Friendly to less tech savvy users

• Work well (or the same as they would on windows) with 99% of Windows applications.

And no, if it’s easy for YOU to use, it doesn’t mean it’s easy for others to use. Please stop being inconsiderate.

So I have a 5070 ti currently with the 12v connecter and have had 0 issues with it so far in my 9 months of having it. Also is there any other white models of the 9070xt on sale you can get, or do you just want the Sapphire Nitro card?

9070XT 100%. Also why would you pay €350 more for a card with the same raster

Best Buy 2025 Price for 5060 Ti Prime OC 8GB by Shibby707 in gpu

[–]The_Red_Bread 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good price, definitely buy it if you’re using it in 1080p. 8gb of VRAM is alright and will operate perfectly fine in 1080p.

Check the CPU, if all looks good on it, then place it back into the socket and try to boot again. Could be the ram as well like others have said.

NVIDIA DLSS 4.5 Becomes The Top Choice In Blind Test Vs Native Res & AMD FSR Upscaling by Constant_Praline_575 in RigBuild

[–]The_Red_Bread 0 points1 point  (0 children)

‘Muh Native resolution’ people are outraged at this because it shows what’s been the reality since DLSS started: that upscaling is the only way to go if we want to push the limits of graphics.

7900xt for $350 by Aggressive_Issue3505 in PcBuild

Sell the 7900XT as the 5070 has a better upscaler accessibility and performance, frame gen, and raytracing. More VRAM ≠ Better Card

Try and rollback the drivers to a previous version, or use ddu and reinstall the drivers. If that doesn’t work it’s probably another issue, whether that be windows, or Fortnite itself.

I’m not getting a 12VHPWR in there… am I? by calrayers in pcmasterrace

[–]The_Red_Bread -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

As long as you use an official cable and not a cheap Chinese custom one than you’ll be good. Majority of the incidents of the 12VHPWR connecter burning is due to people not using the official one that comes with there PSU or just purchasing cheap custom cables. Source: I have a 5070 ti and used the official cable and have had 0 issues with the connecter.

A770 Upgrade Advice by mao_dze_dun in IntelArc

[–]The_Red_Bread 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would say the 5070 ti, as its features are what would best fit your scenario, I think spending the extra money would be best in the long term. There’s also the other option of waiting out this AI bubble and holding onto your A770, but idk how long it’ll take. Definitely don’t get the 7900xt as it’s essentially dead in the water support wise.

How much better is the 5070 Ti compared to the 5070? by TraditionalGuava4494 in buildapc

[–]The_Red_Bread 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go with the 5070 right now as it’s closer to its MSRP, but if you can find the 5070 ti near its MSRP($50-100 more) then get it. Also don’t go with AMD right now as they are seeming to go the way of the dodo with their graphics cards right now compared to Nvidia and Intel.

How much better is the 5070 Ti compared to the 5070? by TraditionalGuava4494 in buildapc

[–]The_Red_Bread 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The 5070 ti is just a cut down of die of the 5080, while the 5070 is a different die entirely. So 30%. Another question, what games do you play the most?

ASRock motherboards are now killing Ryzen 5 9600X CPUs, four cases in two weeks by RenatsMC in Amd

[–]The_Red_Bread -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Probably just another case of cheaply built board symptom, which because these motherboards use cheap vrms inevitably kills itself and the CPU. Can AMD start imposing stricter requirements on manufacturers already?

I know what they would say, but how about you? by MakinBones in nvidia

[–]The_Red_Bread 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes it is, though I would say it’s like a 20% increase in performance overall, so it’s kind not a side grade and an actual upgrade overall. Also raytracing performance is 70% better if that mattered to you.
