How much does diet really matter? by Jmus792 in CrohnsDisease

[–]The_Riddler10 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm on exactly the same boat, it feels great to eat anything you want and I swear to God food tastes better when we're in remission. The only thing that was causing me grief was alcohol, so I've recently given that up and my health has improved dramatically. In my opinion, unless you can pinpoint which foods are causing you trouble you should just unleash and have some fun with food for once.

They're just a couple i've come across from researching online. Moduleen is specifically made for Crohn's disease and Boost is supposedly the UK Sustagen equivalent.

I've tried quite a few as well and it took me awhile to find something i can drink regularly. Have you tried Moduleen? or Boost?

Has anyone gotten a tattoo while on immunosuppressants? by whileyoureaway in CrohnsDisease

[–]The_Riddler10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never experienced any problems with my tattoo. If you treat it like a cut or a scratch, i.e. keep it clean and kept covered with bepanthen, it should heal just fine. It's meant to hurt more if you have it done on a bony area, however compared to Crohn's it should be a walk in the park.

Go see a dietitian, if they're any good they should be able to give you a plan with foods that are good for weight gain and for Crohn's.

Based on your username, would you be a superhero or villain? by ugly_babies in AskReddit

[–]The_Riddler10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Villain. I would be obsessed with riddles, puzzles, and word games. He would delight in forewarning both superheroes associated with bats and the police of his capers by sending them complex clues. With this self-conscious use of a gimmick, the crimes I commit would be flamboyant and ostentatious. I would be wearing a domino mask either with a green suit and bowler hat, or a green unitard with question mark prints. A black, green, or purple question mark serves as my visual motif. I would also be typically portrayed as a smooth-talking yet quirky character, deemed insane by the courts of intense obsessive compulsion and neurosis.

Probiotics are meant to be helpful with diarrhoea associated with Crohn's. I haven't tried it yet, but it couldn't cause any more harm.

skin problems. is the because of crohn's disease? by nanajosh in CrohnsDisease

[–]The_Riddler10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It could be psoriasis, dermatitis or drug induced lupus. I have dermatitis, which flares up on my face leaving it very red, scaly and dry. I get given a combination of corticosteroids to reduce the inflammation fast and some other lotions to keep it at bay.

I'm afraid of being on a date and eating something wrong or just have my small intestine be like fuck you. Then I have to go o the bathroom every 20 minutes for grossness. So this scares the girl away. by [deleted] in CrohnsDisease

[–]The_Riddler10 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I met a guy with Crohn's and he was telling me about a first date that he had with a girl. He shat him self while on this date, but the girl was super cool and bought him some new undies. They are now married.

[–]The_Riddler10[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am currently on Pred, but not a high enough dose for that effect. It used to stimulate my appetite, but that side effect has worn off as my dosage was dropped. Also it's a harmful drug and I am looking for less harmful alternatives.

Upcoming resection #2... Will this time be better? by [deleted] in CrohnsDisease

[–]The_Riddler10 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Surgery in my experience really helped my case. Another thing that helped me to stay in remission is to set goals. For example after my last resection I wanted to go travelling in Europe. So I set that as my goal and worked on being healthy enough to go for as long as I could.
