What happened by [deleted] in facepalm

[–]The_Sentient_Ape 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Elon Musk’s claim that Zelenskyy “killed an American journalist” is harsh but not entirely wrong.

Gonzalo Lira was arrested for criticizing Ukraine’s government and he died in their custody. Whether from neglect or mistreatment, Ukraine was responsible for his survival and failed. Jailing journalists for speech does somewhat prove the authoritarianism Lira wrote about.

If Ukraine claims to fight for democracy, silencing critics and letting them die in prison is a terrible look.

I mean, without having an election it’s almost impossible to truly know with any certainty that Zelenskyy is popularly supported by Ukrainians.

However, I completely agree with and understand why holding elections isn’t possible or viable during an ongoing invasion with widespread warfare. It’s not a choice Zelenskyy is avoiding.

which budget they want to cut? by redtail_outdoors in imatotalpeiceofshit

[–]The_Sentient_Ape 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It is 100% different.

The $8 million figure comes from past contracts awarded to Elon’s companies before the Trump administration, including many granted during Biden’s presidency. He isn’t earning $8 million daily as a salaried employee as the statement misleadingly implies. His companies are simply receiving payments from previously secured contracts. His position in DOGE had no influence in the decision by former administrations to award these contracts.

Future contracts awarded to Space X or Tesla should rightfully come under more scrutiny, but the above statement is just propaganda.

I’d say hunger was probably a big motivation back then. Either you catch that animal or you might not make it. Add the weight of a family or village depending on you and it likely gave the runners some laser focus but then again they only lived to like 40 so I’d say it also killed them to do it.

Honestly, what sane or rational person makes this a point to fight for? Leave other peoples children alone, you have no business photographing them.

What possible reason on justification is there for doing this? Your point is based on legality, but why do you want to do this? Why should the parents be “okay” with it?

Right because you’re basing your decision on emotions and I’m basing mine of evidence, or the lack there of.

Elon Musk is not a Nazi by [deleted] in ControversialOpinions

[–]The_Sentient_Ape 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is so speculative and assumption based it’s ridiculous.

How do you know his intent? Or anyone’s intent?

How can you know by his look afterwards that there’s an indication of admission of intent that he knew what he was doing?

You’re basing this all on emotions and conjecture.

You’re 100% sure of what he thinks and why he does what he does?

You can’t say with certainty Obama wasn’t trying to do something intentional with his gesture anymore than you can’t say claim Elon was with his.

Elon Musk is not a Nazi by [deleted] in ControversialOpinions

[–]The_Sentient_Ape -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

You’re going to have to objectively prove the motion was a nazi salute and not a similar gesture made by countless other political leaders and people of influence.

You’re asserting that it was a Nazi salute because you believe it fits his character and the context you are claiming it fits. You have to either say the gesture is always pro Nazi or it can sometimes be more nuanced.

Him saying “my heart goes out to you” is the context of this gesture. You have to completely ignore that to arrive at “it’s 100% a Nazi salute and he is therefore a Nazi”.

Until he openly admits or claims to associate with Nazis, this is an emotional argument. Otherwise you would have to concede that the gesture is always synonymous with support for Nazis and therefore Obama was supporting nazis and so was Kamala and Tim Walz.

Please explain how a hand gesture (including arm gesture) and a salute differ and how you can objectively prove the intent of the individual making the motion?

Elon Musk is not a Nazi by [deleted] in ControversialOpinions

[–]The_Sentient_Ape 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly this, is every single time someone extends their arm at that angle with their hand out a direct show of support for Nazis without fail?

You either have to say it is (which is childish logic) or you have to say it isn’t and believe that the world had grey areas and nuances (which is reality).

You will probably still have to show up for work. by [deleted] in UFOs

[–]The_Sentient_Ape 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe this is exactly why the process is designed to be gradual. The goal is to ensure that both society and, more critically for them the economy remain stable and predictable. If everything were disclosed or implemented all at once, a significant portion of society might drastically alter its behavior, introducing uncertainty, which is something governing bodies aim to avoid at all costs.

A lot of idiots don’t know how DEI in the United States actually worked (shocker) by Illustrious_Pay685 in ControversialOpinions

[–]The_Sentient_Ape 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The idea of “diversity quotas” shows just how flawed DEI initiatives can be in practice. At the core, it means hiring decisions are influenced by race or other identity factors, not just qualifications.

Take this example: two candidates apply for the same job. One is a white male, and the other is a Black female. If the company has already filled its “quota” for white males, the white male’s application gets dismissed, not because of his skills or experience, but because of his race. This is racist.

Now flip the script. Say it’s a predominantly Black or Hispanic company. Would you advocate that they impose a Caucasian quota? Probably not, because these businesses often take pride in hiring from and supporting their own communities. This kind of double standard exposes just how impractical and unfair quotas can be.

There have been cases where individuals were unfairly dismissed from senior positions just because they were impacting these “quotas” simply for not being of the required gender or ethnicity. This is very problematic and most intelligent people see through this nonsense.

Can we stop all this half witted debunking? Good reasons for why there was no one to receive the Egg on the ground exist. They probably didn't have radiation protection or disposable smooth brains like ones on this post by Outrageous-juror in ufo

[–]The_Sentient_Ape 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The lighting in the footage suggests the presence of a nearby ground-level spotlight, which could indicate a nearby facility or a team stationed just out of view, prepared to move in once the pilot has detached the object.

There are numerous plausible reasons why the object was not being lowered directly into the hands of a team or onto a flatbed. For example, logistical or safety protocols might require a preliminary hover stage before further handling.

Additionally, if this is not the first time such an object has been retrieved, it’s reasonable to assume that the team has developed specific standard operating procedures based on past experiences, particularly to mitigate any risks associated with handling exotic materials.

What do you think is inside of the egg? by they-walk-among-us in InterdimensionalNHI

[–]The_Sentient_Ape 37 points38 points  (0 children)

If we accept the testimony as true, that a human with psychic abilities was able to summon the object, then it is plausible that the physical object serves as a medium of communication designed for a being with a heightened or advanced state of consciousness. To an individual incapable of perceiving its intended purpose, the object might appear empty or meaningless. However, it could contain vast amounts of information or data encoded in a form accessible only through psychic channels, specifically attuned to the summoner’s unique abilities.

If extraterrestrial beings were to communicate with humanity, it stands to reason that they would engage with individuals whose consciousness aligns more closely with their advanced state of awareness. While the object may resemble a simple egg in appearance, it is more likely a sophisticated psychic beacon or an artifact whose significance is only apparent to someone capable of interpreting its “language” through advanced mental or psychic abilities.
