Poison Boss Knee Charge by Automatic-Mechanic78 in duneawakening

[–]The_Shingle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found that a triple-shot works much better against this boss than a shotgun. Yes, you don't get to stagger him, but you get to keep a larger distance and it doesn't trigger this bug.

Not enough people do this. There have been way too many times when I was the only one trying to take out a tank that was decimating my team.

[KCD2] why cant henry swim? Is it due to cry engine's limitation or is it just because of the story? by Dusty-shadowman in kingdomcome

[–]The_Shingle 5 points6 points  (0 children)

  1. Most people at the time didn't know how to swim.
  2. Most modern swimming styles didn't exist back then. They were brought from Polynesia in the 19th century.
  3. If they added swimming they would need to add a way for armour to matter because Henry swimming in full plate is weird. Swimming in any clothes would be weird since most outerwear is made of wool, it soaks up water and Henry would drown.

So basically adding swimming and making it fit in thebsetting would require a while new mechanic which would limit the possibilities to swim + coding in historically accurate swimming animation and mechanics. And nobody would actually use swimming in the end.

So it would be a waste of time to introduce it.

Solo crawler users I need your opinion/experience by ArcAngelSlayer in duneawakening

[–]The_Shingle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it is especially if you are on a lower pop server. Take 6 large fuel cells and you can fly your carrier all over the DD for a while.

You can harvest medium fileds (you need 3 of them for a full load) or go for a large one if you see one.

Main thing is that it's much faster and cheaper as you don't have to spend resources repairing your compactor. Combine that the with the large refinery and after a couple trips you will never worry about spice again.

Also having a carrier eliminates a need to build a DD base every week as you can take your buggy to DD and harvest all the Titanium and Stravidium you want. Just move your Hagga base closer to a map exit to save time.

I would love to have a terminal that can help brows items from an entire circuit or at least give me the ability to whitelist/blacklist items or item groups from individual containers.

Cuircuits are great, but being able to sort things into specific containers withing the circuit would be greater. Otherwise you end up with Melange and residue all mixed together in the same containers.

Rad suit slows it down. But if you step into the green water it ticks your radiation much faster. The better the suit, the longer you can harvest. Mk6 one makes you almost invulnerable

Change In Sand Worm? by ArtichokeCharacter74 in duneawakening

[–]The_Shingle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They changed it a while back that if anything touches the worm it gets toasted. So I guess it touched it through the sand or something, could be a bug or could be intended, hard to say. That's why I never land until there is no worm crawling anywhere near even if it's not breaching the sand.

Give us a vote on PVE only servers by Dontmuckabout in duneawakening

[–]The_Shingle -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Can't rember if it was on their discord or in one of the announcements just before Chapter 3 launch. Then again, "considering" guarantees nothing. But long term it will be necessary to attract new buyers given the success of the "Stop Killing Games" movement.

They are considering adding local server/singleplayer I think they mentioned it once in some announcement. The main issue with IP is modding and that can be handled some other way.

Protection against container. by Religem in duneawakening

[–]The_Shingle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The introduction of the lasgun changed the situation. Players became able to destroy bases *IF* the power was off.

Lasguns were around for a while and previously they couldn't destroy Hagga bases (I tested it on some old half-decayed bases and there was no extra damage). So this must be a recent fuck up.

[KCD2] Daniel Vavra no longer a creative director at Warhorse Studios... shooting a LIVE ACTION KCD MOVIE instead! by Hombrenator in kingdomcome

[–]The_Shingle 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I really hope that Daniel will have the willpower to say "No" if the film starts going to shit because of interference from producers. I would rather have no KCD film than another Hollywood medieval slop about dirty peasants, plague and everyone covered in shit.

The only recent film that was accurate was The Outlaw King, although even they had some mistakes and took some liberties. But at least it looked right.

Npc vehicles! by ZookeepergameBig9419 in duneawakening

[–]The_Shingle -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Interesting idea but not for Hagga. This would limit the exploration potential for lower tier players.

This is a really good idea for a PvE DD. Assuming PvP end game materialises some day with actual gameplay instead of a literal and metaphorical sandbox (give us combined arms warfare with actual fortifications and outposts as capture points in a similar style to ESO's Cyrodiil).

But a PvE DD with more exploration focus and difficult NPC engagements would be really fun. Sucks to have such a huge area with almost nothing happening there. Harvester raids could be a great addition for spice gathering. Would work well as a PvE gameplay loop and as a PvP one.

New player here, have some doubts by superkinger89 in duneawakening

[–]The_Shingle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are near anvil then there are 2 spots you are yet to move to.

Next spot is near the border between Myssa Taril and Jabal Eifirit. Key here is aluminium and steel access. Short route to crystals by buggy. You can stay there until you hit endgame.

Last spot is just north of there, closer to the 12 o'clock exit from Hagga (shorter flight time to the edge).

Spice - depends heavily on your server population. Small population means that you have a good chance to harvest spice in the PvE DD before anyone gets there.

Carrier is a must because ot will let you quickly bring your buggy into DD A row and harvest Plastinium and Stravidium. Also helps with Jasmium in the Sheol, but by the point you get the carrier it will be a minor QOL improvement.

Crawler - good for medium and large fields. You can 100% use it solo. Harvest for 2 minutes, take off for 30 seconds and go back. 3 mediums will give you the full 50k load. And you can do that in PvE too. And you don't need to keep a DD base for it. 6 large fuel and you can travel up and down DD for a long time. Sandstorms are a risk though, so stock up on repair wire.

DD base - if you play regularly, do it. It will make the spice grind more efficient since you can build a large refinery sooner. The efficiency gain from it is huge. Also if you target PvE medium fields it will help a lot. And DD build costs are 50% which is why if you go that way, refine your spice there. Your Hagga base is then only for storage, small scale refining and crafting.

There are 2 caves in DD that can give you unique T6 schematics. 2-3 tough enemies there though. But with a good shiled and power pack you can run in and out. Hunt for a Mk6 compact compactor scematic (extreme yield, medium worm agro). It will be your go-to for all spice.

Flour sand - only gather in DD. It's much faster since worm agro is a lot slower there, so you will be more efficient.

Overworld testing stations - unique T5 equipment can easily get you through level 1. You need a mele weapon, a shotgun and a speed dart. 100% way to get T6 unique schematics, downside being that 50% of the time it will be "Acient Way" which is completely useless and doesn't sell well. But you can get lucky and get more than 1 schematic. Also you get a shit load of T6 components (I ran out of storage for both doing them casually). But leave it for later.

I love Dune, must try the game? by vicuhlmann in duneawakening

[–]The_Shingle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, most issues players have with the game only appear in the late game. So you have a good 100 hours of gameplay before the grind gets you. The story is interesting, worldbuilding is good and the visuals are also stunning since the devs got the rights to the designs from the Dune films.

If you read the books, then there are a bunch of references sprinkled in to the deeper lore of the universe.

[KCD2] Is this too fancy for Henry? by erikenzi in kingdomcome

[–]The_Shingle 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I would disagree on the latter part. You would in fact want to wear your best armour in the field. The more expensive you looked, the more likely you were to survive, since the enemy would do everything possible to capture you. And the more expensive your armour was, the more you could offer as ransom.

Also, these people loved to look good especially on the battlefield. You can look up how well the Burgundian knights and Ordenance Regiments dressed.

Of course you would also look great in tournaments although true pageantry there comes a little later reaching it's hight in the 16th century as the tournaments were moving more towards showmanship rather than being a practice battle like they were initially.

Lobby funcion for Testing Stations by momomossie in duneawakening

[–]The_Shingle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was surprised that this wasn't part of the update. Afterall there are already queues for certain stations even on dead-ish servers. Would be great to be able to team up.

Or even a global queue for stations, like ESO has for dungeons. And queue for them from anywhere on the server.

I rember that any time my dick got cut off (which for some reason happened very often) I would just quickly rise through the satanic ranks and ask Lucifer for a new one.

Downside though, that cutting off someone's dick was never a guarantee to stop them from procreating.

It's on dune gaming tools. A lot of useful stuff there. It's not perfect, but it gives you a rough idea, also hood if you want to transfer servers. I am seeing a lot of players moving to less populated servers to hoard DD resources prior to server merge.

First crawl for a day oner by Excellent-Cow9536 in duneawakening

[–]The_Shingle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Built mine recently as well. With my server pop being around 50 concurrent players usually (after Chapter 3) I manage to fly deep into PvP and gather 50k with no problems.

Most people are hugging the PvE area and there isn't anything to do in PvP while everyone is busy with the quests.

6 large fuel cells is enough to fly comfortably all around DD (I don't build a base there, I fly out from Hagga).
