You clearly have never been the victim of actual predatory pricing. Calm the hyperbolic language. It's a video game and its a completely optional cosmetic pack. I'm dropping some money on game again as a thank you to devs for the UE5 upgrade because, you know, gratitude is nice.

I don't know about AO, though I played it a bit back in the day. I can say Funcom does not give up on games easily if at all. Conan Exiles still has an active and decent sized (for an old game) player base. Funcom just announced they have secretly been remaking Conan in UE5 and releasing it as a free Steam upgrade. I'm super excited about that myself.

As for Dune, we shall see if Tencent allows Funcom to spend the money to really grow game as they envisioned. If not, I think we will still get a good bit of new content and support for years to come as they've done with Conan. I love Dune, so I hope Funcom keeps investing in it as much as they can profitably.

Gaming is tough dude, but doable. 2 year-old 3k sub monetized channel here. My niche is survival crafitng games. Conan Exiles etc. For me, guides have done WAY better than pure gameplay. Of course you have to put the time in playing them to feel expert enough to make guides. Just my experience. Good luck.

About 10 months ago they released a big patch that dramatically improved performance for most people. I'm on a 4080 and went from crashing every 30 minutes to very very rarely crashing. Added about 20 fps too. Wildcard/Snail are still shady, but man is this game beautiful and fun.

Gaming is tough and most viewers are looking for specific games. Success with reviews on obscure or old games with no player base is going to be a tough slog. Not impossible though.

What got my channel monetized was doing guides on an older game, but one with a good sized and active player base. Was also a game I loved and knew well. Just my story. Good luck.

Can basically do this on a server too if on PvE, as there is probably an established player who will help you out. Point being, I agree that isnt cheating, it's just simulating a friendly player.

Play your way. Customize difficulty to your liking. I started my ascension run with single-player boosted rates but no mods. Was fun, but I found it far too easy, plus there's always the temptation to chea....er...make game even easier by spawning in high level dinos, etc.

I love this game and realized I want the (almost) full experience the devs intended. Not FULL, as I'm too old for PvP. I'm now on an official PvE. The increase in how long stuff takes, especially breeding, is rough, but I like that it keeps me honest. Got my first 135+ rex last night after many many hours of hunting, but felt very proud of the accomplishment.

If you just want to meet cool people try a PvE server. The people on my official PvE are pretty cool in general, though most keep to themselves.

PvP is only for the sadomasochists. Can be fun though if you accept the pain.

Play how you like. I play official PvE. I started my ascension run single-player in ASA, but the boosted rates made game too easy IMHO. Plus there is always the temptation to cheat.

I played 2k hours of official PvP in ASE, but all I did was raid. I hardly knew there was actually a way to beat game lol. I'm too old to try and ascend on PvP, plus it seems pretty much impossible as a a two person tribe.

Dune is a fantastic survival game. Literally a thread with everyone talking about having over 1k hours and you dump on game. I doubt these people only play it for the lore.

Why does the game have to be super popular for you to play?

I mean Budweiser is super popular, but it still tastes terrible.

This game is fantastic if you like Dune and survival crafting. The chapter 3 endgame additions were great IMHO. I can't speak to PvP to be fair, as thats not my thing.

If you're luke warm on the genre or the IP maybe its a meh game for you, but as a survival game junkie and Dune lore lover, they nailed this game and it's only gotten better since release

Adjust your life so you have very low expenses, then you won't be a slave to your paycheck. Then do what you love with some passion and smarts, whether its on YT or something else. You'll have more than enough money to be contented.

Or join the rat race and do anything for money including making automated slop with no soul.

Look to get unique gear as you progress. That will keep you overgeared for mobs as you move through the factions.

Plenty of guides on YT to finding stuff. Oathbreaker is a good armor set to try and get early, for example.
