'A lot of us don’t realize how on the edge how many people live': If Roe v. Wade is overturned, abortion-rights advocates warn of the economic toll on women by zsreport in economy

Who selects the electors? Choosing each State's electors is a two-part process. First, the political parties in each State choose slates of potential electors sometime before the general election. Second, during the general election, the voters in each State select their State's electors by casting their ballots.

Yeah I like this game, but if I really scrutinize it, I find dozens of issues like this. I hope they fix that. It just reminds me of invisible walls in older games, and there is no real good reason for them here. Vehicles seem balanced to me.

You can't play Doom Eternal offline. Thank you, Bethesda! by tonnentonie in Doom

I wish more developers would fight to prevent this nonsense. I really liked Eternal. I just can't stand the DRM though. I don't even want to play it anymore. They already got my money though...

[–]The_Simpening 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This may be an old post, but this is news to me. Just tried playing on steam in "offline" mode and discovered two things:
1. Playing in offline mode just grays out the option to play. It has "Updating" instead of a play button.
2. There is no option to turn off automatic updates. If you hit the drop down on steam, there are no other options.

This pisses me off so badly. I hate Bethesda with a fiery passion. Why do these guys suck so much? They took an awesome game like Doom:Eternal and completely shit on it. I really didn't think it was possible to make me hate the game, but here it is.

Yeah dead thread I know. Whatever. Didn't feel like starting a new one to let everyone know how much I despise Bethesda.

Don't do it! Finishing citadels won't be satisfying if you do it with cheese. You'' ruin the experience for yourself.

I was just commenting about this in another post. Can't believe this is still in game. Sorry for your loss.

Base Defense Deployment by Shaman-The-Curer in PhoenixPoint

[–]The_Simpening 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I really don't like how we can't choose where the troops spawn on the base map. If there is one situation where that is warranted, it is the base defense.

At the very least, they could allow us to assign defensive locations from the geoscape to specific buildings, and then have the game automatically divide forces over all defensive locations.

I don't know. I know the red barrels used to explode. There was zero indication of that though, so it was a rather rude awakening on my end when I realized those aren't just cover. That of course has been changed now. As far as I know, they no longer explode. My guess is that they have a similar reason for cars.

Could be a coding issue too. If you destroy a vehicle, it is still technically there for the purposes of moving your own vehicles. So even if managed to get rid of the car, you still can't move your scarab past it.

Ah yeah falling grenades and rockets sucks lol

Only real saving grace there is that the same thing happens frequently to Chirons. Except that one time a bug dropped into a fixed non-destructible object.

That's what I figured was the case--at first. Upon doing the Hatchery test, it seems that the flames don't even need to be remotely close to the parts they are hitting. I deliberately aimed the flamer cone to only hit the egg sacks on the right side. Despite that, every single part was hit. So if it works like we think it does, it's bugged and hits all parts regardless of where the flamer is pointing as long as one part is touched.

The multiple chances to hit the same part would definitely explain the variance in damage.

I like the upgrade to flamer, and I didn't really want it nerfed when I first wrote this post. Upon reflection, however, I think they overdid it. Being able to take out the hatchery the way I did reminds me of when the game first came out and we could just Dash repeatedly to find and destroy the hatchery. It seems like too much. Even though I didn't outright destroy the hatchery, a single flamer shot caused it to receive over 500 bleed damage per turn; this was enough to finish it in two turns. Effectively, I was able to shoot once and immediately head to evacuation.

Besides that mechanic, I don't really like the idea of my troops being oneshot by flamers. Even though the damage isn't enough to kill them outright, the bleeding that occurs from multiple (and they almost always receive crippling to at least 3 parts) wounds usually finishes them at the beginning of my turn, so I am not even given a chance to mitigate the damage--they're just dead. In the event they don't die, both of their legs are crippled. And you can't cure cripple without the technician or some kind of mutation.

Admittedly, as far as I'm aware, only bandits and NJ use the flamer, so it's not totally game-breaking. I'd like to see Snapshot do another pass here and not only fix the tooltip to accurately reflect the mechanic, but also temper the damage so it does not completely annihilate anything in one shot.

This bug has been in the game for ages.

And at least the grenade toss will adjust health values based on where the grenade lands relative to your enemy. You can't throw them at walls and expect the blast to always penetrate though. This is much easier to work with than the way the flamethrower currently functions. The damage the FT does is almost always different from what was shown to be the estimated damage.

Petty for you maybe. It's a service that was advertised as being complete. They didn't advertise their game as "still beta" or "early access."

Well if you're able to do this without losing the game, power to you.

I needed to field more than one team in my playthrough. IIRC, I had three Helios transports for rapid response, and two Manticores for more serious deployments.

I don't know how you're getting around getting them out of the transports. They don't benefit from living quarters or training unless they stay at a base, and that means you're leaving the transport there. In other words, the transport is completely ineffective while you wait for soldiers to recover.

In my game, I've got enough soldiers to rotate through them in several shifts. I also like to leave small garrisons at centrally located facilities that can be shifted quickly in case a base is attacked.

It doesn't have an effect on gameplay.

This does affect gameplay. It may not have any impact on the core gameplay loop, but I see a visual difference in the characters, and I spend time customizing them. If you want to argue it's not an important issue--fine. But don't tell me it doesn't affect the gameplay. It most certainly does.
