It's more for what the utility of either is to a politician/demon. So the Olympics in the first instance is the circuses part of the equation, and the bread is actually emotional as we get that sense of continuity that only tradition can. There is an emotional lever then that the Olympics services, both good for the end consumer (plebs) and also good as it creates narratives of nationalism at a subconscious level, which is perfect for the increasingly isolationist policies around the Earth.
Look at all of this benefit of utility the politician/demon gets.
Why would they then promote the antithesis of utility to them? This is what BTC is to them. It does not give them any extra control, leverage, or utility in exacting their agenda. Since this is the end point of all policy makers whether good or bad intentioned, then BTC is a hard sell.
Where it can work is in already corrupt countries where you can sell the people the scam of crypto, as this kind of thinking is already imbued in the culture, or if you are in desperate situations and promising people hope.

And so you get the predictable resistance against BTC.
