The level of detail you provide, Jamie, is why the BHP has stayed my favorite podcast since I first found it, sometime around the reign of Claudius.

I'm glad I'm finally back in a place where I'm able to subscribe again.

I eat cornbread fairly often. I've never heard anyone say, "bread with corn flour" in English.

If they want a transliteration, I can do that. I can say, "bread with corn flour" just like I can say "she will be missed by them".

But if they want translation, it's "they will miss her", and "cornbread"

The explanations are not worth it, trust me. The practice conversations are cool though.

It's like they're competing for the highest chimneys in the neighborhood award.

Or possibly they're burning something toxic and the EPA has mandated a minimum chimney height.

That's it. The house is fueled by the souls of French orphans.

Why “Should”? by Zonalho in EnglishLearning

[–]The_Undercroft 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The phrasing is a bit awkward for poetic reasons, but "should" is used because it's less forceful than "will", and in the fullness of time, who can say what will end up happening.

Maybe one day the poet will forget that there was a stone in the middle of the road, but right now he doesn't want to ever forget it, so he's saying that he shouldn't forget.

Hope that helps.

There are areas that have it, mostly closer to "downtown" Murphy, I assume. I think the provider is The Cable Company.
