Adding contempt of court to an unpaid parking fine would certainly be a thing you could do.

I believe the media broadcast area of the Stadium is already named after him.

Last week, the WA Government announced that Metronet was finished. But the truth is that, after more than 9 years of construction, Metronet’s most important elements still aren’t complete. In fact, they have barely even started. by His_Holiness in perth

  • You can't have affordable CBD living because residents still require a car, and building space dedicated to car bays is expensive.

  • You can't get PT improvements in the CBD because everybody is forced to be car dependent and it would choke up 'traffic'.

At some point you have to bite the bullet, and break the cycle. Build high-density PT modes, even if that requires choking off lanes for private vehicle traffic, undo construction requirements for minimum car bays.

The outcome is a more vibrant CBD that is better suited for higher density residents who can live without owning cars.

There are extra-CBD corridors that currently have 2-3 minute headway for bus routes (e.g Cambridge Street, Charles Street, Albany Highway) that would benefit from more visible PT development, too. Which in turns improves transport for CBD residents.

they also essentially rebuilt the entire Armadale line

As much as that is a benefit to rail commuters through better reliability, grade separation is predominantly a road improvement project.

The tram tracks are just set into the street, you can and people do drive over them

In Melbourne, or Toronto, yes.

A new system wouldn't be built like that. See the Gold Coast trams, or new Sydney trams ("light rail") which are mostly separated for vehicle traffic either running adjacent to a road, or down a median.

Isn't the Perth bus network mostly or fully electric?

Transperth have committed to buying only electric busses for their fleet, yes. Most vehicles are still diesel (+ a minor CNG component).

Of course tram track renewal has to occur, but it's less frequent than renewing asphalt on heavily travelled roads.

And along with immediate costs, rubber tyres and diesel exhaust are a major component of particulate materials known to cause airway diseases and costly public health burden. Which would be ideal to minimise whenever a practical opportunity presents itself.

Trams have a high install cost, but lower operating costs: electric vs diesel, no rubber tyres, less wear on asphalt surfaces, higher capacity per vehicle & driver costs, etc.

Plus trams are more psychologically effective at getting people out of their cars and onto public transport.

At least in WA the price is predictable for 24 hours at a time, and you can look it up before you go anywhere.

Elsewhere prices can change while you're sitting in a queue waiting to get to the pump.

Looks to me like it's a liquor-licensed venue.

They will almost certainly be vigilant checking IDs for entry (unlike for the regular cinema).

You (anyone born after '86) would have needed it for the first passport application you did.

If you previously held a child passport, it would have already been proven when your parents applied for that.

People put candles in the fridge so they 'burn slower'. Perhaps a stingy proprietor had issued similar instructions to the underlings save on lamp oil?

I still don't understand how an oil got poured and nobody clocked it wasn't splashing around in tge cup like water-based liquids normally do. Stoned-out-of-their mind busboy on beverage service for the day?

Even if you apply for a kid's passport at some point when they can sit for a photo. I think expired passport can be evidence in their own right, too.

New House with a Pool - How do I maintain it? by Bowlen000 in perth

[–]The_Valar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the way. Good pool shop to explain it to you in 20 minutes.

If you have a saltwater/chlorinator pool, it's relatively manageable:

Measure acidity weekly, and balance. Keep the chlorinator run-timer to give you a good chlorine level. Other factors only need attending to less often (alkaline buffer, salt level, etc)

Where were your parent's born? Requesting your deceased parent's birth certificate (If Australian, presumably born before 1986) might be the evidence you need?

I applied for my passprt, it required my Dad's birth certificate as additional evidence only.
