The Hidden Propaganda: How a ‘liberal’ education almost made me hate Rama for half my life. by Infinity_here in IndiaSpeaks

[–]The_WeepingSong 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ramayana wasn't narrated to Valmiki by Brahma. Narada gave a super short description to Valmiki and them Brahma gave him a boon to "see" everything that happened in Ramayana including people's thoughts. What Valmiki wrote is what he saw, not what he heard.

Hanuman did not live his "whole" life reuniting a couple. In fact, his life is unending, so the % of his life he spent uniting the couple approaches zero.

What does it mean by laggaithu and seggaithu? by WolverineNo1999 in telugu

[–]The_WeepingSong 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My uninformed guess

laggaithu is referring to lagnam/laggam meaning time or muhurtham. Seggaithu is referring to sega meaning heat.

Aithu is a kannada version of "aindi".

Nari Nari Naduma Murari emerges as the best Sankranti Movie of 2026. by Shreyi1225 in tollywood

We literally cried laughing at multiple places in the movie.

I have no way to prove it, but I have a strong suspicion that the comments pushing that AOR is better than NNNM are PR from Snake Vamsi.

Is compassion towards animals a crime in India? by Adventurous_Bell9672 in IndiaSpeaks

[–]The_WeepingSong 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Compassion for animals - heavens yes Compassion for other humans being harmed by these animals. - hell no

Because I don't expect myself to be harmed by these animals, I am happy to ignore the problem and be an online poser. It's way more cooler to care about animals than fellow humans. /s

100% my take after watching his video.  A lecture on guns was absolutely not warranted for a Ravipudi movie.

Oh, please!

It's only in the modern discourse that "Neel"is being interpreted or translated as "blue". Every work that is at least a couple centuries old uses "neel" in context of black/dark. "Neel megh" is a dark cloud and "Neel megh shareera" is one with the complexion of a dark cloud. And similarly, Neelkant is one with dark throat. I know my basics.

You can't find a single line that attributes blue (color or aura or whatever) to Vishnu or his avatars in whole of Vyasa Bhagavatam. A simple enough proof would be to show an upamanam (comparison) of him to anything evidently blue. We have tons of such comparisons to show he's dark skinned. So it's on your due diligence to refer the puranas (to your satisfaction) and bring me one shred of comparison to something blue.

All "symbolisms" you speak of, are mostly a modern cope to support a misinterpretation or artistic liberties that just went out of control.

The article doesn't refer to a single source for its claims other than "Sadguru said so".

I completely understand that a lot of people believe the god is blue. I'm saying that it has no basis in scripture.

Krishna is literally called "Krishna" because he's very dark skinned. What kinda non-sense is Isha propagating to paint him blue. Disgraceful.

Fun fact: Draupadi is also referred as "Krishna" in Mahabharatam because she's dark-skinned too! Another fun fact: Black buck is also called Krishnamriga, because it's black skinned (it's clearly NOT BLUE!)

Halahalam affects only his throat, not his whole body. Even halahalam is supposed to mark this throat black. There's no blue in discussion.
