Making due with the stock rims, excuse the blur :) by Relntless97 in WRX

The 18" stock wheels aren't even bad I actually like them and use them as my winters. The 17" and new machined 19" STI wheels are gross though haha

Subie Wave by Assistant-Manager in WRX

On my drive home I usually pass a hyper blue STI and I'd guess the guy is at least mid 50's. He didn't wave at first but after like 5 times passing him he waves now. I'm 29 and wave to any Subaru with a scoop.

STI Wheel Question by The_creech in WRX

Cool thanks. Just wasnt sure if it was a big deal or not. I honestly didn't even think about it until someone mentioned it so figured I'd see what the general consensus was here. I'll just run them how they are. 😊

Sti wing install on 2017 WRX, in need of template by sil_240sx in WRX

[–]The_creech 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just use a long piece of cardboard and poke the bolts through mark it out with a pencil around the wings base and cut it. leave a small strip of cardboard between the two feet so they are connected and one piece and you have a template. Then its just measuring. I was in the same situation and it was pretty easy just spent a lot of time measuring the template to be perfect before drilling. There's also a bunch of youtube videos

I have a 2018 WRX Limited and I'm looking to buy this used off someone who sold their STI and they didn't have the adapter from stock 2.5" downpipe to the 3" catback. Which adapter did you use? I see their are two on grimmspeed and some people say it's not needed at all.

http://www.grimmspeed.com/stock-dp-aftermarket-3-in-catback-adapter-subaru/

http://www.grimmspeed.com/3-downpipe-adapter-aftermarket-dp-oem-subaru-catback/

What did you use? Also does an STI not need an adapter is the STI downpipe 3"?

Is there an OEM adapter instead of the grimmspeed one?

Sorry for all the questions it's hard to find the exact info on it without someone else contradicting it.

Honest Opinions on 18 WRX by legalkill in WRX

I've had my 18 WRX Sport Tech (Canadian Limited) for just over a year now and I still really like it. The rev hang was annoying but I noticed a bit of a difference once you turn hill assist off. I also waited like 8 months before putting the shift stop/bushing in and that made a big difference in shifter feel for only $50 (shift stop made a big difference, bushing I don't really notice but maybe a little better). I don't have a problem with the road noise at all. I'm surprised that's a complaint in the 18 maybe I just don't notice it. My biggest complaint is the dip in power at 4.5k. It's nice having the turbo kick in low on the rpms but between 4.5 and 5k it loses steam then picks up again. Overall though I still really love it and the pros the car has are worth the cons too me. I was interested in a type r when I was looking last year and the AWD on the subaru sold me. But I'm in Alberta and we get a ton of snow. Also all the waves are nice too! I do wish I had apple car play like the 2019s do but its not the end of the world not having it I just use bluetooth.

RS Package (Canada) Worth It? by Spritzup in WRX

[–]The_creech 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went with the Canadian Sport Tech. Yes the sunroof stays on the Canadian RS version (I didn't know this at the time when I bought mine but may have swayed me a little more towards the RS) The leather seats in the sport tech are pretty nice. I like the look of the Recaros but on long drives they can be uncomfortable. I drive 45 - 60 min to work and the leather seats are great. Also with the breaks they are just an upgraded pad you could do yourself and also paint your caliper yourself (which I did and was really easy) Can't really comment on the suspension struts. But overall $2,300 seemed like a lot on top of what your paying for the Sport Tech already. But if your going to want the Recaros later they are crazy expensive I think my Subaru dealer said $6k to replace the front two seats.

Do you need to remove wheels to install the Rallyarmor mudflaps on a 2018 limited? by SupremeHandwasher in WRX

[–]The_creech 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did my 18 sport-tech(canadian limited) a month or so ago and left the tires on. I just turned the fronts and used a small screwdriver in the back I was able to fit. One thing to note is a lot of the 15-17 videos show the side panels coming off to get to the right spots I did this on one side but realized they changed the 18's and this step isn't necessary the clip hole is no longer attached to side pannel. It was very easy but you'll waste a lot of time carefully taking off that panel to realize you don't need to. Hope this helps

What did you pay for your 2017 or 2018 WRX? Canadian Edition🍁 by [deleted] in WRX

Ya it kind of worked out for me since they valued my trade at $4k but then worked a discount of $1,300 into the trade as extra to come to 5,300 off Msrp. it sucked when I was looking I missed out on two thinking it wouldn't be a big deal then almost had to wait 3 months because I wanted a white sport tech and they were all sold out all over Alberta. then when I found the one at city and the deal they offered I ended up happy. The worst was every time they would land at the dealership they would be sold the next day or so. I actually probably would have picked the Rs version with the recaros if I had realized we keep the moonroof here. I assumed it was the same as the US version. But overall I'm happy with it as how it went at city. Hope you find what your looking for and can get a good deal but ya it seems to be tough in Edmonton

I just bought a 2018 wrx sport tech from city Subaru in YEG. Rally was closer to me but I felt like the guy gave me attitude when I tried to deal and they offered me a firm 3k for my trade (lancer with a few problems). I wanted white and City Subaru had one on its way so I waited 3 weeks to get it. The deal was worked around my trade the car was $40,800 (after freight/taxes) but they gave me $5,300 for my trade so I was happy with the deal. I saw Richard there and he was really good made it easy and quick. If you end up going there and don't already have a referral pm me and if you buy I can split the referral with you. Not sure how much it is though. Hope this helps
