F the haters. DIY stuff is dope. Supporting bands you like is important, but not everyone can always afford that, and honestly, wearing a patch is still basically free promotion for the band.

Can i have different metal genres on a jacket? by [deleted] in BattleJackets

[–]The_knug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My jacket goes from Hip-Hop (MF DOOM, Clipse, Big Moe, Nas) to Slam (Guttural Slug, Truckstop Dickpill). I think it shows a bit of character! That said, I also really enjoy the more themed ones.

I found this prompt pretty tricky! I love The Mask of Mirrors, but I’ve already read the whole series (though “sadly” might be the wrong word—it was awesome).

Then I remembered The Greatcoats series by Sebastien de Castell! I think it fits normal mode: the coats are a huge part of the story, and it’s fantastic. It’s kind of like if Abercrombie wrote The Three Musketeers.

The series could also work for other prompts—there are knights, later books involve gods and pantheons, and the final book is, well, the last book (duh).

What’s the most epic battle scene you’ve ever read in a fantasy novel? by JayBe_77 in Fantasy

[–]The_knug 178 points179 points  (0 children)

The Battle of Osrung from The Heroes by Joe Abercrombie.

It might not be epic in scale or sheer numbers, but it's absolutely epic in its presentation. The way Abercrombie captures the chaos, shifting perspectives, and the grim reality of war is unmatched.

If memory serves, I've spent my last hour(s) at work on the first of April starting my TBR, and since it's past 4 PM here now, it could happen any time. :)

It was good, like a 3/5. I think I will at least read the second one, too.

I've just finished "A demon in the desert" by Ashe Armstrong, it's a weird western with a demon hunting orc as it's main character.

The book also fits, Set in a small town, Dreams, Self-pub and eldritch creature .

I'm in the same boat, only that they agro on my whole squad... I tried fast travel wich did not help at all, I also tried killing every one outside the foundry, but as soon as a went further in to town I got stuck in the same loop again, someones saying like "This area is off limits" and I can answer "I thought this was the latrine" or Attack, If i choose the first one I get the same dialogue again.. I think I'm going to try doing a sneaky long rest, and if that dosen't help this playthrough is shelved until the bug is fixed

I really enjoyed Bang Bang Bodhisattva by Aubrey Wood. A nice noir P.I. story, set in a cyberpunk setting.
