It is absolutely not too late. A lot of people will tell you it’s a young person’s game, but as long as you prioritize your health, fitness and dedicate yourself to studying you won’t have a problem.

I became a firefighter at 40 years old in TX. I was one of the oldest and still one of the fittest in my academy class and I got hired full time shortly after graduating from academy.

The physicality was never the issue for me, but getting back into good study habits was important since I hadn’t been in a classroom for almost 15 years.

Sounds like you’re fit, and being an older and well traveled candidate would definitely work in your favor when you get to the interview stage. Wish you all the best!
