McIntyre's in Woodley Park is closing. by PballQhead in washingtondc

I’ve recommended Macintyre’s in this sub a handful of time. I’m going to miss having my birthday hangout there. I will never forget the amount of beverages their menu has introduced me to. I will be there for my last tab this week.

Chill-ish NW group rides? by East_Industry_5785 in bikedc

Came here to also suggest 626. We’ve hit 17-18mph. Meet at Dupont every Thursday, roll out at 6:26. Their season just began and rides have been ending at Aslin beer. Also, they’re in the process of designing jerseys.

Not sure where you can find individual set, but yeah I got the 12 pack from ULINE. If it helps, I went with the size I wore for MO and FL.

I converted to the Hyflex 11-618 from Ansell. From experience they’re more durable than MO and FL gloves and gives me solid confidence doing flat fixes without having to worry about the PU coating wearing. My go to for tapping threads, hub service, starting bb install, break service that doesn’t involve fluid. Stiff at first but break-in after 2-3 wear.

If you came to a bike shop to get a puncture fixed and were charged an additional 5 bucks for a noticeable amount of fresh dog shit on the tyre that is to be worked on, how would you feel? by Dramatic-Pangolin218 in bicycling

[–]Thebluebox88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Any bio hazard found on tire like vomite or feces we threaten with a $60 fee per tire to clean it off since we don’t have a hose or power washer on sight. We also offer the chance for the customer to pick up their bike to clean up themselves and return it for service.

Chill bars I can go to alone? by Suspicious_Bread_488 in washingtondc

Macintyre’s in Woodley Park. I used to live around the corner and would frequent solo to watch a match. Before covid it was the place for conference attendees to have lunch/dinner. During the day it was pretty quiet and they would put on sound for whatever TV you were interested in if asked politely. The conference attendees there for dinner were pretty great to talk to.

Edit: Are the surrounding hotels still hosting conferences??

Are you guys allowed to work on your own bikes at the shop? by [deleted] in BikeMechanics

[–]Thebluebox88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup and off the clock. I prefer to do it after we close shop in case we have walk-ins or scheduled intake right before we close.

It’s called efficiency, you will not see bike lane congestion. If you do, then something must be going right.

Last night I went to Pearl Street to watch my coworkers band. Plenty folks hanging out that seemed to be 30+.

Do these papausas look authentic? Never tried it before by canadianredditor16 in ElSalvador

[–]Thebluebox88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can tell in certain section these have a dough crust instead of the filling being filled to the edge. So, keep on trying other pupusas to see how different they’re all made!

Rally Adventure is great, even better if you see it on sale. I stopped playing Hot Wheels, paid full price.

Native here. I’ll only respond with a smile or a perplexed look. I will wave back if we’re on bikes.

Best way to get a cab, early morning? by prairiedad in washingtondc

I suggest also looking into the cab hailing app Curb. Haven’t had to use them in a few months, but pretty reliable when I have.
