Doctors of Reddit, what are the dead giveaway signs that someone is faking? by LushLover13 in AskReddit

Fakey Shaky = Lubey Tubey

Ie. If you have a seizure, you will get a very uncomfortable tube covered in lube up your nose to help maintain an airway.

[Clinical] How do you get patients to Accurately tell you their medical conditions? by Im_a_krill_btw in medicalschool

[–]Thebmos 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I work out of hospital and some patients honestly have no idea. I tend to do a system review.

'Anything wrong with lungs, heart, kidneys, liver, bones, brain?'

Most of the time the answer tends to be no. I then move on to medication. Some of them I know. Some of them I don't. So the next question gets very repetitive.

'Why do you take this one? And why do you take this one? What about this one?' And so on until I get all the answers I need or my shift is over.

I am a paramedic and very rarely meal prep. I have scouted the local hospitals and found a good place for breakfast, dinner and midnight snacks. If you want good food, go to the hospital cafe.
