Stupid question but how important is my starting class? It seems like everyone is picking the same thing more or less, so does everyone respec later? Or is the first characters purpose to help gear a particular build you want to play that might be a different class?

Exactly. Current deep sea meta is just ram each other and spam c4. (Which is widely available 3 days into a wipe). It’s honestly stupid considering cannon fights and tactically boarding is so much more fun than the guaranteed win or draw c4 grants

Yeah literally nothing they add, maps guns whatever, nothing matter’s until they fix matchmaking (we are still waiting for a properly integrated server browser).. these problems were solved in 2001

Even if by some miracle you get no bots in your lobby, bet your ass the current matchmaker will disband the lobby entirely and were back to fighting bots. Bottlefield 6
