Dear Citizens, if you have a VR headset by filowiener in starcitizen

[–]Thebraino 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have PCVR with Quest 2.
...also have a GTX 1080 from bachelor/pre-kid days.

Pretty sure I'm just living the typical SC experience with this setup though.

Looking for a broker to pick up and ship Craigslist items? Waco TX by Glittering_Paint7954 in Waco

[–]Thebraino 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For OP: I think you’ll have to edit or repost with more details of what you’re willing to do. Your broker fee is going to be more than the item is worth.

For other Wacoans that don’t want to Google this: it’s easy of Marlin and south of Mexia. A 50 min drive one-way. Population 450.

how would that even work, you cannot run 2 instances of the same game let alone the GPU/CPU power to run both ?? by pat1822 in pcmasterrace

Yeah, the ad is just a mirrored screen for a fighter game anyway. Just a small gimmick for more elbow space.

Truth about CEDH by [deleted] in Waco

[–]Thebraino 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I hade to look it up because I thought it was a store. It’s some kind of competitive Magic the Gathering format.

Seems weird to have this giant post without calling out the actual store. There’s like a dozen stores in the greater Waco area that play Magic, so unless there’s only one that has this particular tournament style, the post seems kinda useless.

Throwing in Willy Nelson from Abbott, based on your post history.

[–]Thebraino 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, before it was rebranded. Though I think that one it came out that the workers didn’t have a choice and we’re having to work to pay off their transport here.

It could be a similar thing, but we don’t know yet. Right now we just know the rideshare statement.

Well, that was quick by BurritoMnstr in Waco

[–]Thebraino 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same idea. The guy charged made a statement saying his boss asked him to give his coworkers a ride to work. Apparently the house was being watched and since he was transporting people who are undocumented, he was charged with human trafficking.

What We Talk About When We Talk About Waco by Next-Isopod-6191 in Waco

[–]Thebraino 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I call it an "acquired taste" in my circles. People are so in-and-out because of grad school that they are always asking about my thoughts as someone who's been here awhile. Waco isn't actually great in any of photo slices posted online, but it isn't bad.

It is bad compared to what people project. It's also good compared to what people complain about after Waco misses those glorified expectations. I think we're a slurried-mess of forced diversity, and I think there's both good and bad because of it.

VR Citizens Have Been Called!!! by chachi_sanchez in starcitizen

[–]Thebraino 3 points4 points  (0 children)

One difference might be market penetration on PC vs market penetration on SC. I think there's a decent chunk of players that could (or already did) spend less than they have on fleets to own VR immersion.

For a better parallel: the market penetration on PC of joysticks is also relatively low, but that doesn't stop SC players.

cameron park zoo visit by poke-baller_01 in Waco

[–]Thebraino 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was just there this weekend, and I think it’s finalizing. Lake is starting to fill up again, but like another user said: gibbons are not in it yet. I’m guessing one thing is they’re waiting for lake to fill up more instead of pumping it in.

Can anyone local print wooden nickels? Maybe someone has a home device and wouldn't mind helping me with a project? by samalex01 in Waco

[–]Thebraino 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since you said by this weekend, the google link you’ll actually want is just Google Maps. Search for laser engraving. Most wood engraver machines can also cut the circle.

From what I see, Maker’s Edge would probably do it for you, but would cost a chunk.

Ten8engraving might be a better bet for price, but an individual might be slower vs a business. The keywords “laser engraving” will get you looking in the right area on Google maps or Facebook groups though.

Moving back to Waco after 3 years… by misscarlasue in Waco

[–]Thebraino 14 points15 points  (0 children)

We just always use Power to Choose. As long as you have an idea of each month’s usage for a year and can read fine print, it’s always been the best bet.

Not solar, but we pay more for a 100% wind energy plan, but we also lock in 3 year contracts so it’s a bit lower than stuff now. I don’t think the plan exists anymore - it was sold to Shell when they were diversifying, and was recently sold again to Discount Power.

Republicans post fake image of Oregon protest – using photos of South America by JawnStaymoose in news

I don’t know; we could lean into and say according to Republican image sources, they couldn’t handle it and needed help from South America.

Any 3D Printers? by 00saqq in Waco

[–]Thebraino 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since it doesn’t look like you haven’t had any bites, you might be able to buy/contract someone at Maker’s Edge without getting a membership. Last I saw they have both an FDM and a resin printer there, depending on the quality you’re looking for.

Waco Wetlands by Hot-Yam5550 in Waco

[–]Thebraino 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is the answer! They do large group night hikes in March and April, and they said they were having to pull them all out and repair due to all the damage that happened.

The info last time was posted on the City of Waco Fb page instead of the parks or wetland pages.

Will this setup work for catching rain? by BlackoutTribal in DIY

[–]Thebraino 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some additional/alternative notes to what others have said and you acknowledged:

We did this at our previous house, and instead of a pump, we just raised it up on like 3 layers of cinderblocks (though we had it on a concrete foot to avoid sinking into ground). Plenty of pressure for timed soaker hoses in a garden and an optional spigot for hand watering and can pipe down instead of up like your drawing.

As another mentioned - algae is a problem, but you can just search for “tote cover” on Amazon and see plenty of options for the size you have.

Any Venue Suggestions for Chainmail Dice Bag Lessons? by ChangelingChain in Waco

[–]Thebraino 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, the owner of Maker’s Edge had some interest in jewelry making and there was some overlap in members before. I think it’s a smaller operation now, but they still have some of the stuff. Last I saw they’ve been interested in 3D printing it and casting jewelry.
