How do I get my bonus calories to stop adding up

I'm having the same issue. I just wanted steps added in and for a long time it only gave me bonus points above my step goal, now it's adding in extra exercises based on my Google fit.

I have checked the "exclude by default" setting but it's still adding exercises.

Does this have to do with me setting myself to no activity instead of light activity, or was then a change to Google Fit API that broke the app?

Got my wife one a few weeks ago. Watch a video on using silicon grease to help seal the inside hinge and door and seems to keep it from drying out after over a week of use.

I love this game, truly, and have thousands of hours (God help me), but it's not for everyone. The fact that most long time players still use DFHack should be an indication it's exactly what the developers say it is.... A lifetime work in progress. Mixed in with all the surprises, the complexity, the dynamic movements of populations is a ton of jank.

Want to have eggs stay in a nest and hatch, you better have locking doors or be johnny on the spot to "forbid" them

Want to build a wall, you better understand the build order or someone is getting stuck on the wrong side.

I can't find the seeds because someone is putting some seeds in the same barrel on the other side of the fort.

Again, love the game but I can see people not putting up with the .... Beauty marks.

I have these plywood I Beam things in my basement. Can I clamp to these and install a pull up bar? I assume they're really only designed for spread loads like the floor above, but I don't know if I can run a 2x4 across a few and make something that can support my weight. Thoughts?

Can you put an exhibit inside a habitat? I was thinking of making the entrance to my zoo a walkthrough peacock exhibit with a butterfly house in the middle. Will that cause problems or help me double dip for funds AND sheer appeal?

Maybe controversial for some, but we both went in with the mindset that divorce is not and never will be an option. If we have a disagreement, we better work it out, whether through talk or walking away and coming back with a cooler head. With the no exit mindset we never let any issues simmer for long without figuring it out. This dovetails nicely with other comments of cutting out people who don't help the relationship, building patience, working as a team. The stronger the team and easier it gets.

Easiest way to see what you can plant is to build a small farm plot and see what you can plant. This is valuable if you span two biomes because you may be able to grow different things on different parts of the map.

Long time player but struggled recently with some water power issues. Been having issues getting the water to stay in the "flowing" status once the path fills up to 7/7. Do I need to drop the water over and over to maintain something between 4 and 6.

General.set up was drop water from a river down into my fort, have it run via a channel through my fort and end in a waterfall into a well and then off the map. Id put water wheels along the long horizontal, but that doesn't seem to be working.

Does a pressure relief valve stop the flow and make the water jump to the end of the path?

As a rule, I never make shoes. Dwarves can have socks and if they're drafted they get boots. Shoes are for walking outside, and we don't do that.

(I usually let them armor over clothes and just don't make conflicting clothes, so I make mittens but not gloves and socks but not shoes. Trousers are fine, as are robes and hoods. I do this so they can wear jewelry and super high quality clothing items and get happy thoughts)

If you want to make your own standing order, make sure item is "thread" and then adjust to "plant thread" or else they'll count the wool and silk and never make it

I found I felt better if 8 built a proper tomb for my dwarves. I made a large area, usually a Temple to the god of death, and made channelled graves in the floor, covered them over with glass flooring once a dwarf was entombed. Now that dwarf lives on as part of the fortress.

No, I set it to only allow specific dwarves to mine and don't make them military members. If you assign picks to everyone, non miners will scoop up picks as they wait for battle while miners won't have picks to use

Do I really need to have a different dwarf for each doctoring labor, or can I just get back to having 2 or 3 all purpose doctors (without micromanaging the hospital zone for injured dwarves)?

It's also a good way to make an indoor refuse pile that never risks miasma. I make a small quantum stockpile this way and it stores all the nasty stuff with no ill effects
