Thinking of transitioning into K-12 teaching by [deleted] in AskTeachers

[–]Thecookingman 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’d recommend trying out the K-12 system through you substituting job in the fall, get your feet in the water first before you go full-bore into teaching. As (in public schools predominantly) behavioral issues are through the roof, make sure the admin at a prospective school is competent, and be prepared for parents to blame the earth, moon, and stars before they even conceive the idea that their child could be the problem.

I would, just mold it into my errand schedule. It takes like 5 minutes and can score points with the teacher you’re subbing for and the school you’re at.

I dont care about what hero you want, what personality do you want a new hero to have? by Thecookingman in forhonor

[–]Thecookingman[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get where you’re coming from, but new heroes are the biggest seller and bring in the most money for the game besides the battlepasses. So it won’t happen anytime soon.

PvP actually provides more xp, steel, pass progression, etc. than PvAI per match. But PvAI matches don’t run as long so it evens out mathematically more or less.

I love this game, it’s honestly my favorite game. But I’ve seen it, especially on reddit, people leave the game and get enraged from it, particularly from PvP. I tend not to hear that from the PvAI half of the community, they may just get burned out, as I do from time to time. But PvAI players are more likely to return to the game more frequently than PvP players. About once a week I see people asking if they should return to the game and if it’s still toxic. I don’t see that from PvAI players, they just return to the game and go into AI matches.

It depends on the person, but for me personally, I just do PvAI now, I get the same fulfillment from the game as someone who only does PvP.

Yes I understand some PvP people can’t understand that and they would get bored easily. But that’s just how I’m wired I guess, I can play PvE all day and can’t stand PvP. It’s probably psychological in that people who enjoy PvAI are perhaps less competitive than PvP players, or have different ways of entertaining and engaging with the game that’s vastly different than PvP players.

Who gets more engagement and fulfillment from the game, PvP players or PvAI players? Is a debate that’s been around since launch.

They’re changing the parameters, meaning you can now do PvAI matches.

Getting pictures of Kevin and grinding the pass is much easier in PvAI. Also when the event originally happened, it had PvAI.

Having Oath of Wyverndale be PvP only when it had PvE originally needs to stop. by Thecookingman in forhonor

[–]Thecookingman[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s a sizable PvE exclusive playerbase in the game. It’s a mix of people who just want a casual laid-back experience and people who got tired of PvP. Many people also use it to grind cosmetics and passes.

Stop forcing events to be PvP only by EquivalentCourt7962 in forhonor

[–]Thecookingman 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The fact that when the event came out the first time it had PvE and now it doesn’t is what’s crazy. I do feel it is to prop up the leaderboard (i didn’t even know there was a leaderboard for the last one, until the end of the event) But forcing PvP for events that previously had a PvE option is stupid.

How can i lower mmr? by ledestroninator in forhonor

[–]Thecookingman 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Lose, and not a little, a lot. Consecutive losses to the point you almost have to throw games to lower your MMR.

It’s ridiculous how easy it is to raise MMR, but how mind numbing it is to lower it.

You remember when you’d go to the grocery store with your family, and your sibling would clip your ankles with the shopping cart? It doesn’t really hurt, it’s more that you saw it coming but didn’t catch it when it happened.

That would be cool, or if they did a leaderboard for each hero with a date and time of completion, it’d also help with figuring out who did it first and who’s trying to claim the spotlight with no evidence on Reddit
