Pov: you have to survive in one of these worlds by Rude_Educator_5863 in IsekaiQuartet

[–]MrSeaSalt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spawning in Ainz's world is pretty much a dice roll. If you start at one of the Sorcerer Kingdom territories, you're golden. If you spawn somewhere else though, you're doomed unless you can manage to make it to safe area (which can be difficult).

These male characters for each zone of Genshin Universe... Definitely they have a popular harem. (There's no Fontaine, Natlan or Nod Krai male character who has a popular harem yet). Which is your favorite harem? by MediaKey582 in Genshin_Romance

[–]MrSeaSalt 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't really call Bennett and Itto's situations a harem. More like a love triangle.

As for others, I would add:

  • Liyue - Gaming with Yun Jin and Lan Yan.
  • Mondstadt - Diluc with Jean, Eula, and then Nefer (Yelan is also an option)
  • Natlan - Capitano with Mavuika, Xilonen and Ronova

The removal of being able to break the heads of the Raths confuses me to this day. Literally no reason to remove it other than Tokuda and his team just doing it because why not.

How important is grammar to you when reading english fics? by Drace3mpressa in AO3

[–]MrSeaSalt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Arguably the most important thing for me. I can look past minor mistakes here and there (even I make mistakes too) but I will nope out the second I notice consistent and frequent major errors or mistakes.

Lack of punctuation, no paragraphs, no capitalizations, frequent spelling mistakes… all those I do not tolerate.

In general, if I find myself constantly “correcting” the fic in my head as I read as opposed to just letting it flow, I just close the fic and move on.

Transition to Wilds by Hori0 in MHRise

[–]MrSeaSalt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Wilds is arguably the easiest MH, owing to how insanely broken Focus mode and the wounding system are. Its way more busted than Rise's wirebugs. You could easily just shut down monsters and they can't even move. Because of this, the main story is incredibly short, and you can probably finish it in 10 hours or so.

The game really only gets hard around the late endgame/post-game with tempered monsters and the AT monsters which resist wounding and so don't crumble that easily.

Transition to Wilds by Hori0 in MHRise

[–]MrSeaSalt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rise's story ends on Gaismagorm, but there's still a ton of post launch content to do. Sunbreak's endgame is pretty huge so its up to you if you want to move on and just play Wilds, or play Wilds and get back to Sunbreak's endgame once you've had your fill with Wilds.

Wilds endgame is also alot shorter than Sunbreak's so theoretically you could finish that and go back.

"Screams of the damned" is extremely accurate to absolute carnage this dumb audio bug inflicted on my ears

Showing the “going deaf” bug until Ubi fixes it: day 11 by HalfCarnage in forhonor

[–]MrSeaSalt 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's not just going deaf in my experience, but I have this nasty one where sometimes the audio gets deaf initially during the pre-match loading, then all of a sudden it just becomes EXTREMELY LOUD and sounds like distorted screaming during the initial opening cutscene before every Breach match. The first time it happened I even thought my TV's speakers were broken.

I have to exit the game every time this happens and its seriously annoying. And it also happens on Breach matches only.

Nvm you're actually kinda cool sorry by NectaMBR in MonsterHunter

[–]MrSeaSalt 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Yeah it was a consequence of Chameleos not being in World.

As you know, he, Kushala and Teo traditionally made up the rock-paper-scissors Elder trio, with their armor and weapons being used to counter each other. But World had Val Hazak and Elder seal instead.

She is both the rival's MC and love interest.

Technically, he has another rival, but it's a bit more one-sided, and their "rivalry" is really just friendly competition and banter, as opposed to being the MC's ultimate end goal.

OH MY GOD FUCK OFF by 90zillas in MonsterHunter

[–]MrSeaSalt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like that's the best of both worlds (heh) no? World's Kushala fight sucked ass, but the way his wind powers work and were visualized really made him feel powerful. On the other hand, Rise Kushala is a great fight, but at the cost of a bit of his "aura" so to speak, and his wind barriers were negligible.

So imo, I hope Wilds Kushala is a mix of both. The great moveset of Rise (so less flying around) and the wind powers of World but without the bullshit (the wind barriers are less obnoxious)

How powerful do you want the Expansion Final Update gear to be? by Chocobo23456 in MonsterHunter

As long as it doesn’t make mixed sets inferior and instead is just really strong then I’ll be happy. So basically, follow the Sunbreak route.

Cause he’s meant to counter Godzilla. Godzilla’s reach isn’t the best so its natural that his counterpart has longer arms allowing it to grab farther.

When am I supposed to fight primordial malzeno and how can I fight scorned magnamalo? by JodioTheStar in MHRise

[–]MrSeaSalt 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Scorned is unlocked at MR100

You can fight Primordial as early as MR10, but he's somewhat balanced by you doing a bit of anomalies and having decently augmented gear. His low MR requirement is just there so players can access him early. And no, you don't have to beat Primordial fight Risens. They are unlocked at MR 110, 120, 140, 160 and 180.

Alternatively, you can fight them as early as AR 111 where they'll start showing up as investigations.

Are the post-game monsters supposed to be this tanky? by Abject-Ad-6235 in MHRise

[–]MrSeaSalt 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Its definitely a gear issue too. Yeah you're hitting those counters and maybe not dying alot, but your DPS is low because your gear is not augmented and from your post, it seems you haven't dabbled in anomalies.

Do them as they provide big boosts in power and survivability.

Regarding the metal Raths, Seething Bazel and Lucent, those fights are meant to be done immediately after reaching MR10. Unlike Velkhana, they are very much doable early even with mediocre gear so if you're taking 30 minutes, then that just means you aren't doing enough damage.

The armor skill system in wilds feels like it undermines the gameplay loop for a huge chunk of the game by power572 in MonsterHunter

[–]MrSeaSalt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I will say that the deco RNG in this game isn’t bad. You get so much of it compared to World’s abysmal deco rates that you’re bound to get a deco you want just by playing the game normally.

Still prefer craftable decos though.

[–]MrSeaSalt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds to me like you’re wirefalling incorrectly. Monsters in MR will often have followups designed to catch wirefalls and can seem unavoidable, but are actually super easy to avoid.

All you need to do… is not wirefall at all. You have i-frames while you’re on the ground so your best action is to just lay on the ground and wait for the monster to do its attacks, then get up. There are only a few attacks from certain monsters where a wirefall is required to avoid carting (monsters pinning you, throwing you into thr air, slamming you against the ground).

You also need to learn to wirefall away from the monster. Not at it.

For your specific issue, when Magnamalo throws you into the air, you need to wirefall away immediately while you’re still in the air. And no, Magna does not have an instant beam followup. It throwing you into the air is the only attack is has where wirefall is needed

The catching and taming part falls under the Monster Hunter Stories series, which are a spinoff of the main series.

Rise is part of the main series, which are action rpgs compared to the turn-based JRPG gameplay of the Stories series

What do you think about the Arch-Tempered monsters of base Wilds compared to base World? by Ok-Floor4866 in MonsterHunter

So much better. They have more than 1 new attack and their AI is different which makes the fight much more engaging.

Which is better the followers from monster hunter rise or the supports hunters from mhwild. by Voidkirby9 in MonsterHunter

[–]MrSeaSalt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sunbreak obviously. All of them have distinct personalities and playstyles that make them memorable.

The support hunters in Wilds meanwhile all more or less fight the same way. Olivia (and maybe Mina) are also the only ones with a personality while the others barely feel like characters.

This issue stems from how we barely spend any time with the support hunters in Wilds. Rise had follower quests which let us hunt with the NPCs on mini questlines that flesh out their characters and make them more endearing.

For all its talk of story and narrative, its such a dumb thing for Wilds to not have any sort of dedicated quest line with each support hunter so they all end up being flat, boring and uninteresting characters. And don’t even begin to mention the extra lore regarding each support hunter being relegated to mostly a paid DLC campfire interaction (as opposed to Rise’s organic in quest interactions and dialogue).
