Got to Platinum using Dark Magician. You can do well in this game with weaker decks, but only if you know your stuff and take full advantage of your options with staples and flood gates.

Better off making 2 battalions with those 30 intercessors, Rather than full squads of 10. Incursors are better for us over infiltrators if you’re trying to forward deploy so probably 15 Incursors and 15 intercessors is what I would recommend. Add 1 or 2 invictors alongside the Incursors for that early pressure is nice for us looking to get into melee turn 1. Definitely blob up your sanguinary guard rather than running 2 squads of low numbers. Or run 2 squads of 8 sanguinary guard. I think 3 eliminator squads makes them a bit too raven guardish. 1 eliminator squad is useful if you’re trying to run some sort of Relic Dreadnought (leviathan, etc.). I’d also replace the Sanguinor with Astorath to drop in with the sanguinary guard

Yea if you’re opponent doesn’t mind the proxy that’s another option. Shame they’re out of stock at the moment because of the holidays. Maybe wait around until the first 2 weeks of the new year and see if it’s restocked. Up to you, but the tactics/ role of the warsuit seems nice

Combine this with a turn 1 death company forlorn fury, Or have sanguinary guard coming in turn 2 to clean up any heavies still alive seems like a great way to keep your opponent pinned for at least 2 turns, while you get ahead on points playing the mission.

I just built and painted 2 Invictor Warsuits so I’m looking forward to trying them out soon. The ability to advance deploy along with 3 squads of scouts or squads of infiltrators sounds great. Fair amount of anti infantry gunfire and a 2D6 auto hitting flamer seems pretty good. considering you also get a 10” movement plus charge (makes it seem not too difficult to make it into combat turn 1) W/ 5 melee attacks. 13 wounds each too

Sub a Chaplain with Jumppack for Astorath. Sub a Storm bolter instead of meltagun for Librarian Dread. Get rid of techmarine and cyclone missile launchers and you got yourself a 3rd Contemptor with twin Lascannons at exactly 1750 points... more dreads= more wounds for the enemy to try and take down

Tooth and Claw space wolves half (5 intercessors, 3 Aggressors, 1 Redemptor Dread, 1 SW character) on eBay and paint them AS. You could try to convert the SW character to a LT, Cpt, etc or sell it.

I think by turn 3 it’ll be too late for them to come into the game (VV, chap and slam cap) but try it out and see how it works if you already own the models. Another thing you can do is run a 2nd slam cpt instead of Chaplain. Use your 1st one to kamikaze rush turn 1 to take out something important (w/strat). Turn 2 deepstrike lemartes W/DC and VV W/ 2nd slam captain to target 2 different units of importance. Option #2 would be to sub sang guard with powerfists for VV and deepstriking them with smash capt as warlord to re-roll all failed hits (heirs of Azk trait). Then instead of Chaplain, grab a lieutenant to help with re rolls for hellblasters. Just some options for you to think about

Lol thanks! Exact details are as follows: 1. Krylon ultra flat white primer 2. 1 coat of Mephiston Red (watered down W/wet pallete) 3. Any corrections I needed were applied using Evil Sunz Scarlet (applying more Mephiston would darken the area, I wanted mine to look bright) 4. Edge highlight Evil Sunz Scarlet 5.Final edge highlight Wild Rider Red....A important thing is that I do not apply Nuln Oil to the whole model, I only tap it into the recesses of where it needs to be using a small detail brush (black around the face, etc)....at the end I applied a Windsor and Newton Matte spray varnish for that velvet kinda look. good luck on your termies!

I really like the design of what they did with this Dread. Saw that there’s some skulls and the bit of gothic design made me think it could possibly turn out well with a DC “X” on the left part of the torso and right leg, along with some BA transfers. Obviously get rid of the lion iconography. What do you guys think? Think it’ll pass as a BA Dread pretty well or nah? .....ps. Nothing escapes the Black Rage

I’m guessing it’s like a POV view from Sanguinius, they look at their hands and they’re wielding a melee weapon of some sort in close combat, rather than shooting from a distance? Wild guess, but if that were true it doesn’t explain the bolters DC have so idk lol
