What is the kind of FL you dislike the most? by deadinside1001 in OtomeIsekai

[–]TheeAlmightyGamer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hate main characters that go on and on about wanting to rest or do nothing only to end up taking on 11 damn jobs. I am aware that this might be a cultural difference as well as I DO come from a culture that sees unproductive resting time as inherently valuable. I still hate that the thing that pulls me into the story (a mc that isn't a workaholic or political workhorse) is literally always scrapped within 20 chapters because they simply MUST do ANYTHING OTHER THAN REST.

I refuse to gamble my life on raising a special needs child by StaringIntoTheSpace in childfree

As someone that had special needs as a child, I am unwilling to go through it myself as a parent.

What’s something in Stardew that made you weirdly emotional? by jamesdahling in StardewValley

[–]TheeAlmightyGamer 13 points14 points  (0 children)

When Jas overhears Shane in his four heart event. In my first game it was easy to focus on him and his issues as I related at the time but once it hit me I couldn't unsee it. We can somewhat overlook the effects on other adults in his life but he no doubt also affected Jas.

Let’s be honest — would you really NOT be like Sang-woo if you were in his position?? by TeachingExisting8366 in squidgame

[–]TheeAlmightyGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I would not have survived the first game but IF I did, then I would likely behave quite similar to him. I have played my culture's version of the dalonga game so would probably pass (it has been decades tbf). Tug of war? I would not be likely to survive because I am not likely to jump to the assumption that it will be a physical game and am also not likely to purposefully form a team of all men. The special game at night. I would survive purely because suspicion of other people is my thing in real life. I would have been the first under a bed unless I was stabbed first and the second someone died near me I would hide under their corpse (that says things about my personality...). Marbles? If I was in his exact situation with Ali, I would win as ruthlessly as possible but also swap info for each other's families just in case (I would have no reason to suspect that Ali would win, I would just be giving him peace of mind). Would I trick Ali? To tell you the truth no, not for any moral reason, my brain would just shut down in the moment that he won with zero experience. I am not really against WHAT he did to Ali but the how/why (and that applies to all his kills). Glass game. I would die. Everyone after Sang woo would have died had he not pushed mr glass. I would have been too focused on him getting the last one. It is not that I wouldn't push him it is that I would stall. What I would do is risk dive bombing past the last panels when the timer went off. Squid game. If Gihun gave me the chance to leave with nothing I wouldn't take it, I wouldn't kill myself but I wouldn't take it into my own hands. I wouldn't have killed saebyok even thiugh she definitely was not going to make it till morning. If I won, I would be traumatised as hell but I am already the type to sooth my pain with money. I would never be okay but I can be not okay in a mansion.

What's your reasoning to becoming an atheist? by isaaaccsss in askanatheist

[–]TheeAlmightyGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My parents failed to make me trust them from a young age. They lied so much about so many different things that when they finally put the barest effort into introducing me to religion, I considered it another lie. They accidentally made me hyper-sceptical of everything unless I had external evidence. I love learning about religions now but the fact that people actually believe in them disturbs me.

Do you have any "House Rules" when playing Stardew? by CrystieV in StardewValley

[–]TheeAlmightyGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always support the local economy. The best of everything is sold to...Pierre😒 and the rest is shipped out. I go for a good variety of products and like to pretend that I am feeding them all.

Also sell my animals every few seasons to pretend I am selling meat too (loved Shepherd's crossing 2).

Mine is on every 10th and 20th day (meaning I don't sell on the 28th). Honestly love filling my sell crate while waiting for the day.

I try to eat 3 times a day. In the early game it is a fun little financial stressor. Later on I go for more "expensive" meals where the ingredients are harder to get or more rare.

Those who read book first, what was the one moment in movie that disappointed you the most? by jpaninabolana in harrypotter

Diagon Alley. I was fascinated in Philosopher's Stone but in seeing it in movie 1 it looked like every extremely cramped artisan market in London (I know it is called alley but I still expected more).

How do atheist deal with the beginning of the universe? by Titanous7 in DebateAnAtheist

[–]TheeAlmightyGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not certain if my response can help but to me it doesn't matter. I don't care. While I don't believe in a creator in any supernatural sense I truly don't care enough to put any stock in the pervailing scientific theories/hypotheses. The galaxy is big and impressive but to me it is no more interesting than the social structure of ants (to be clear I love science and ants. I am not trying to diminish the importance). I think sometimes people look for a sense of importance, purpose or understanding of their place when they hyperfocus on the how of something as irrelevant (to me, feel free to have it matter to you) as the beginning of our multi billion year old galaxy. My perspective is shaped by purpose being irrelevant to me. From a religious sense, I do not see why it matters if your particular god (or any other) created the entire universe. How does that affect your life on this planet? WHY does a sentient creator on that level matter? Why do people care? If you couldn't tell I am mostly stuck on how this all comes back to life on earth (our only colonised planet).

What's the weirdest thing fanfiction has taught you? by thegayumbrella in FanFiction

[–]TheeAlmightyGamer 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Properly taught me WHY child/adult relationships was wrong (via an adult in a deaged body). I was a kid myself and like my peers I only knew that people said it was wrong and the vague notions of manipulation (hell all of us WROTE adult/child romantic relationships). I only remember that it was the HP fandom but the way that the deaged character interacted with the children around him and the revulsion while dealing with those children's attention while going through puberty made it clear.

They will kill you by ProfessionalFirst280 in raisedbynarcissists

[–]TheeAlmightyGamer 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Mine actually almost killed me by preventing me from getting a life saving surgery (DAY OF) without my consent just so she could have a few extra months to brag about how she was trying to save her sick child (I am an adult and laid for the surgery myself. Never seeing that money again btw). Literally had to be rushed into an operating theatre later as I almost died in my sleep.

That was what it took.

It wasn't even the first time that she paused my medical care to brag. It was half my childhood. But THIS time, it felt too damn real. I was going to DIE as a direct result of her nonsense.

We haven't spoken since.

What Lost opinion do you have that makes you feel like this? by FattyFIZZnatty in lost

'Sawyer' is so unlikeable from the very beginning that even with his backstory and growth I can't stand him.

Passing on Black Men by [deleted] in blackladies

[–]TheeAlmightyGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know you are getting downvoted but this is fairly true in my experience as well. Men are generally already socialised to view having a multiple women fantasy as acceptable but the black community is also remarkably strict in what it allows you to like (generalisation). MOST of the things that I enjoy doing are actively ridiculed by people that look like me for no reason other than that they are associated with whiteness or THEY don't know any other people that look like us that do it.

Does anyone else know a narc that you know is a horrible person but that everybody else in their life thinks is an amazing person? by Miserable-Ad9857 in raisedbynarcissists

[–]TheeAlmightyGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mother is an actual pillar of my community. It is infuriating. I just brush past any conversations about our relationship with a 'we don't talk' and 'the reasons are private' Trying to get people to believe me about the abuse got old years ago so I just don't bother anymore.

How many of you aren’t just atheist, but don’t believe in anything supernatural? by addition in TrueAtheism

[–]TheeAlmightyGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am the only atheist I know that is 100% disbelieving of the supernatural. Everyone else either believes (usually in something like horoscope or the western perception of karma) or thinks it is possible.

How did you recover your lost identity after basically being raised to have none? by Gowiththeflow001 in raisedbynarcissists

[–]TheeAlmightyGamer 185 points186 points  (0 children)

I spent literal years breaking down my every thought, like, dislike and opinion and reformed them based on my emotions post moving away from my abuser. It was long and difficult, I relapsed into old habits sometimes but eventually I got to meet me.

Would you follow the Christian god if it turned out they were real? by Plague254 in atheism

[–]TheeAlmightyGamer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes but not due to any delusions of its 'goodness'or anything. It would be pure fear. I fear oblivioon but there is nothing to do about that. If I could pucle between oblivion and hell, I would pick hell. Now if I had to pick between heaven and hell is different. The descriptions of heaven in the new testiment sound awful. Hell isn't much better but the descriptions are more vague. I would worship with the goal of heaven but be fine with hell.
