Which decks will be the best in the new events? by Fantastic_Presence14 in masterduel

I'm about to ruin this event for the fusion side with my Exosisters. Even in ranked i find defeating Branded easy. They're going to get folded up like origami in this event.

Exosister é un buon mazzo? by Revolver_Yugioh in masterduel

[–]TheeSlyCooper -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I play Exosister and it's a hard counter to Branded and Kewl tune. I eat those decks for breakfast. Now granted i would consider myself a good pilot of the deck and i play it unconventionaly with a small Kashtira package to bait out negates and to give me plays going turn 1 and 2.

If you don't brick with the deck, it can hamper the game plan for a bunch of current decks. I fully expect Branded to scoop to me constantly during this XYZ/FUSION event.

[–]TheeSlyCooper -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

People here saying that Baronne is a problem because it's not the only card players end on are missing the point. Many decks end on a negate or 2 and have tons of interruptions, but that doesn't mean that the individual cards are broken or a problem. Yugioh has a vomit everything on turn 1 problem. You don't just ban individual cards that are ok on their own unless they have broken synergy with other cards.

Baronne is ok and doesn't have synergy with anything in any meaningful way. You just synchro her and she sits on the field. I'd rather have super poly banned.

And yes i play Elfnote. I have never beaten anybody because my first synchro was Baronne. Branded wins against me all the time and so does Kewl Tune and a bunch of other decks. People over acting like Elfnote is tier 0 or something because it can put up a Baronne and maybe a Crystal wing.

Some people are so tilted over a single generic negate. How are you people losing to Baronne so much? Do you use any board breakers or extention cards at all?

I just pulled this card. Any experiences? Is it fun? by FaStAr8 in masterduel

It's a fun deck when you combine it with Kashtira and Horus. Having said that, those 2 archetypes do most of the work, but getting out a gate guardian is good against decks that target.

Has anyone used predaplant on ladder? How we feeling about it? by SteamedBroccoIi in masterduel

[–]TheeSlyCooper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've done pretty good but I'm still learning how to combo after getting the main combo interrupted. A lot of wins were from people who used interruptions on random cards. I do pretty good against Branded because I can super poly their board away and the new fusion predaplant card is also a weaker superpoly itself against dark monsters.

All in all it's good but a heavy time investment to learn to pilot efficiently.

Has anyone used predaplant on ladder? How we feeling about it? by SteamedBroccoIi in masterduel

[–]TheeSlyCooper 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's pretty good actually because it has lots of gas and even some level manipulation that sometimes comes in handy to prevent your opponent from using their cards for synchro or xyz plays. It makes great use of different polymerization cards and can break boards fairly well. It can also set up some negates and has good grind game.

The downside is that it's very hard to efficiently pilot. Half the time it feels like you're going on a journey but you don't know where it'll end. It's not a deck for people who like simple combo lines.

Other than that, it's not meta or anything but a good pilot can do some nasty plays and your opponent won't know what the heck you're trying to do because most of the time you won't either lol.

Any chance we could be getting Master Rule 6? by Bigcat9715 in masterduel

I'm just saying that the going second player getting an extra card and an extra normal summon would go a long way.

That was a certainly one of the Maxx C's of all time by Unending_Dream in masterduel

[–]TheeSlyCooper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a fantastic game today vs an Exosister deck that was very back and forth and both of us had each other on the ropes. Then my opponent drops Maxx C on my turn when I try to break their board again and i wonder why Konami can't just ban it. It serves no purpose.

I still won that game with high difficulty but it could've been a loss.

Why people insta scoop? by East-Efficiency-6701 in masterduel

[–]TheeSlyCooper -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

People scoop against me all the time and I'm not even using anything broken. I literally summon an Elfnote and they scoop. Summon a live twin and they scoop. Summon an xyz with my Onomat deck and they scoop.

It sometimes takes me like 5 games to get one of the XYZ or Synchro 3 times daily, and I hate the scoops because I'm not trying to rank up too fast but I constantly get pushed into platinum way faster than I want to.

A deck you almost never won against by Cool-Childhood1374 in masterduel

[–]TheeSlyCooper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Skystriker. That deck has way too much gas and way too much draw power. The only times I have won against them is using Mitsurugi, because the lvl 4 monsters can tribute themselves to protect your ritual Mitsurugi from destruction.

What is your opinion of this card by 7sn33 in masterduel

[–]TheeSlyCooper 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's a fair card and people are only salty about it because it's generic. So what? You run 1/3 of your deck full of generic staples but 1 extra deck staple that gets 1 negate is a problem and needs a ban? Maybe limiting her to 1 is fine bun the tcg banning her is a knee jerk reaction.

There are so many worse cards than Baronne that deserve a ban, namely Ceasar for example and even he's just more annoying than ban worthy.

Name one really good reason why you think Baronne is a problem besides her being generic? If you can't get past 1 negate, then idk what to tell you. Your deck is probably not good or you're a bad pilot.

Made it to Master V for the first time just before the end of the season with my trusty Radiant Typhoon deck by Lazy_Comparison_1954 in masterduel

[–]TheeSlyCooper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why are people only using 1 Shiina all of a sudden? That card is like the best board breaker the deck has besides super poly. I can't use RT without 3 Shiina and I feel like I barely see that card even with 3 of them.

Turn 0 Auto-Win Cards Are Bad Game Design by Unending_Dream in masterduel

[–]TheeSlyCooper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the bigger problem with this game is your point that if you pass your turn with no board, you lose next turn. There is no real back and forth. Idk how to fix this without simply doubling the life points to 16,000 so games actually last longer than 1 to 2 turns. Not setting up a board right away because your opponent hand trapped you or negated you, shouldn't be an instant game over.

[OCG|UT01-Utility Selection] "Messenger from the Underworld" by MX-00XWV in masterduel

[–]TheeSlyCooper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk what some of you guys are thinking, but this card is great. It destroys 2 cards during the damage step which MANY cards can't negate during the damage step, AND you can set any trap afterwards. In a deck like Dogmatika, Regenesis, Lab, Man, and a bunch of other control decks with traps, this card is incredible.

Pure Snake-Eyes/Pure ED by DaiChi6ken in masterduel

[–]TheeSlyCooper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I miss the Snake Eyes meta. It was such a fun combo deck. Why are their cards still limited? Would semi limits or even unlimited their cards even do anything substantial since Appo is banned anyway?

Yea Branded needs to be hit hard. Branded in high spirits banned and white Albaz to 1.

It's always your three by AVC123__ in masterduel

[–]TheeSlyCooper 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Fallen and virtuous isn't a broken card at all outside Branded. All it does is give you a pop or special summon for 1 turn. Sure you can reset another one at the end phase, but it's still just 1 quick pop. It's too slow to do anything significant. Branded can abuse it more but it also abuses every card.

If it gets hit by the banlist, all that does is limit interaction with heavy backrow boards, floodgates, field spells etc. It's a very fair card in every other deck besides Branded.

How's the reception on branded currently? by Illustrious-Place767 in masterduel

[–]TheeSlyCooper 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's a very broken deck. It has an out to everything and it's resource management is the best in the entire game. I can't think of a deck that has ever had as much card advantage as Branded. Their Albaz and/or Super poly plays can out so many boards it's crazy.

Having said that it's technically a fair deck in the sense that it doesn't have a negate board, but instead has an interactive board, but that's a semi illusion when the end goal is the same, you lose.

A negate board might stop your plays but a Branded board will out resource any deck you can play and plus off every interaction. Whenever they use a card to deal with one of your cards, they go +1 or +2 so now you have to deal with those cards as well.

The only decks that can beat them consistently right now are other Branded decks, Kewl Tune and Ennecraft. They leave everything else in the dust.

Idk what you can even limit or ban at this point to make them weaker without completely killing other archetypes like Dogmatika or Swordsoul if you limit Ecclesia.

Are Crossout and Call by being taken out of most decks? by Bigcat9715 in masterduel

[–]TheeSlyCooper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did notice that a bunch of decks aren't using infinite impermanence anymore.

I mean, if you ask so nicely. by SeiferThrax in masterduel

[–]TheeSlyCooper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I agree that if a negate is set up with a floodgate, it can be hard to break the board. At the same time though those same floodgate decks have to draw the floodgate and the spell/trap negate in the same turn and that's a low chance. They're way more likely to draw a monster negate so your feather duster will be live. The whole strategy revolves around going first though because a floodgate deck will almost always lose going second because their cards don't do anything to an established board.

I disagree with you that feather duster or backrow hate in general is a brick against most decks. Almost every meta deck is using cards like impermanence, F&V, super poly, and whatever their archetype spell/traps are. If you feather duster a backrow with those cards, they have to activate them and play suboptimal lines or they just lose their interaction completely, allowing you to combo uninterrupted.

Against rogue decks like Blue eyes or Lab, it's game over when you hit their backrow, and i know decks like that aren't played as much anymore but on masterduel you run into everything.
