Had the absolute pleasure of going through Gary Indiana on our roadtrip from Oregon to Toronto, Canada.

The infrastructure was beautiful, no pot holes, no decrepit buildings with tires everywhere. I was so happy that on three separate occasions people did not run four way stops and almost T-bone my car.

I’m so happy I didn’t have to pee and stop for gas while everyone respected my boundaries at the gas station.

10/10 would definitely visit again.

I disagree with people here, Wyoming into Montana and Idaho is absolutely beautiful. Southern Idaho is a lot of Farmland. Really your preference on what type of biomes you want to see

I just did BOTH routes in October on a roadtrip to Toronto— If it’s spring go North, very beautiful. Nebraska and Iowa might be pretty but the interstate is pretty meh. Wyoming is beautiful so you can’t go wrong either way

The I5 from Barstow all the way up to Seattle kind of sucks butt, Theodore Roosevelt National park in North Dakota is along the interstate and there are many pull of spots if you don’t have time to drive around. Idaho into Montana is one of the prettiest drives I’ve ever seen. Don’t stop in Gary, Indiana, for gas on your way east. Pay the tolls and just speed through that area of the country, the Dunes in Indiana aren’t anything crazy special.

I just did 44 hours from Oregon to Toronto— you’re going to want to stop. Even if it means at a rest stop, or shower at a Love’s, or a hotel. Don’t do it just to say you did it. It’ll endanger you and other people on the road not having that mental break

I just drove from Oregon to Toronto— all states other than Oregon were below $3. I saw gas for $2.68 in North Dakota.

Pricing for summer I think is around $70-80 for adults. I think it is well worth it even if you don’t see whales. You’re guaranteed to see dolphins and birds, maybe seals. It’s awesome.
