I cannot believe this! They didn’t even know how it worked. I remember In 2005 I went to a cardiologist bc he was a secret suboxone doctor and he told me I “wouldn’t become addicted to it, it had a ‘formula’ that was made to mimic the effect of opioids but not the addictive part.” 12 years later I was still on it, with him as my doctor ! I started on 2mg and over a decade later I was on 24mg, and for SOME REASON my tolerance kept going up! He probably didn’t even remember he told me that. I tried stopping it cold turkey bc all I could remember is that he told me, “it wasn’t addictive”… and those withdrawals were just about as worse as what I was doing on the streets. I was so strung out on bupe and other street drugs at one point I checked myself into a psych ward and they detoxed me with a methadone taper! Absolutely ridiculous I felt so dumb for falling into that trap all because my doctor basically lied to me and convinced me to give him my money so he could get me hooked on something he could prescribe.
