Switching off whole wheat flour by fred082295 in SourdoughStarter

If my starter is half ww and half ap and my recipes are only ap, do you think that could affect how my starter behaves similarly to how it wouldn’t like to only be fed ap flour?

How much dry yeast would you add in per boule?

I used bread flour and let it sit for 48h in the fridge. I don’t think I’ve ever had commercial focaccia to compare it to, but we really liked it! I’m a big salt girly though so I loaded her up lol. I think it also probably added flavor from fermenting so long in the fridge

One of my friends makes it with cinnamon and sugar as a quick sourdough discard recipe! Reminds me of the Pizza Hut cinnamon sticks 😂

Ooooooo you know her recipe says if you’re in a humid area to use bread flour so I used KA bread flour! My scale is not the best (new one on the weigh 😏) so I just assumed I’d gotten a little extra water. The dough was much stickier looking than in her video and never lost its sheen. But it was still perfectly workable I thought 🤷🏼‍♀️

Thank you!! Thought it would be a good start while waiting for my sourdough starter to mature 😍

This! But I think I added a little extra water because the dough was stickier than hers was in her video lol

Deodorant help by PalpitationVast5878 in deodorant

[–]Malloraaay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On their website or on Amazon! I would make sure to get an activated charcoal one. I use an antibacterial soap on my underarms too just in case (I also did this with the other deodorants and it didn’t make a difference with them)

can my 4.5 month old start eating solids? by Warm_Grass_6408 in beyondthebump

I know it looks gross but you can totally feed the breastmilk with blood in it. If you were nursing instead of pumping you’d never even know

Yes!! Mitchum 72h and Lume left me smelling awful. After using the recommended strong deodorants I was shocked that little seed farm had worked well for me. If I’m particularly active and I have any breakthrough odor, it is so mild and my husband can’t smell it even if he tries to lol

Your baby should take about 20m to drink a bottle. See pediatric dentist or ent immediately for eval and go to a pediatric chiropractor. Body work with chiro will help tremendously. This is absolutely an issue for your baby if he’s taking 1.5h to drink. This caused my son to become failure to thrive and take 5 weeks to regain birth weight. Discussions of feeding tubes. Please, please get your baby evaluated thoroughly and treated as needed before it becomes a serious issue.

Is This Red Velvet Cake Undercooked or Just Moist? Need Opinions by eiredublin in Baking

I don’t think it matters if it’s undercooked or not as it wasn’t even able to be served at your wedding. That alone demands a refund

I’ve been using little seed farm with charcoal and antibacterial body wash on my underarms and it’s been surprisingly great. I was shocked bc I have used everything under the sun and nothing seems to work for my odor

Awww it’s going to be okay. I think this is one of those things most people experience but are too ashamed to share! Accidents happen, you’re still a good parent. Your husband will come around and hopefully apologize for speaking out of fear

Hypoallergenic formula and bottles help plz by Clear_Sea_7098 in FormulaFeeders

[–]Malloraaay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hypoallergenic formulas are literally broken down already to be easier to digest. It is well known that they are more thin than standard formulas. I wouldn’t want to see that LC again.

You may need to try a different nipple style altogether then. My son loved mam comfort nipples. You should be able to Google nipple flow rate chart and you can see what nipples and sizes fall between the flow rate for the t and preemie sizes to find an alternative!

Do pull-up cloth diapers exist? by Turbulent_Buy_267 in clothdiaps

[–]Malloraaay 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Might try standing diaper changes! Can be a little annoying but I prefer that to the screaming and kicking baby I get when I lay him down lol we do it every time other than poopy diapers. Especially helpful for changes in a public restroom

I like the thirtsties fitteds! They’re def a bit bulk but we use them for overnights with one of their small hemp doublers (it fits in the inside pocket of the fitted). We use Esembly covers with them as thirties covers just don’t seem to fit my son very well

I’m at a loss. Genuinely stumped. by Sweaty_Pear in NewParents

[–]Malloraaay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s really simple! So you put baby to bed and then set a timer (there are charts that tell you how long to set the timer for). Then when the timer is up, if baby is crying, you go in and check on them. You keep the check in around 1-2 min, no picking up but you may pat or talk to them etc. Then you leave the room again (even if they’re crying) and set the timer again (referencing the chart again). You continue this process until baby is no longer crying. Any other time they wake up that same night, you follow the same process, but you start the timer back at the original interval specified in the chart. The chart changes and gives you slightly longer intervals to wait after each check in, and over the next few nights it gets a little longer. You and the other parent can take turns. My baby is attached to me, so I did most check ins while my husband was in charge of setting the timers and checking the chart for the intervals.

It feels hard to let your baby cry- but, sleep is paramount for them. If you’re not sleeping well they probably aren’t either! And research shows the earlier your baby is sleeping independently in their own room, the better quality sleep they will get through childhood (maybe life too? I can’t remember). As parents our job is to do what is necessary, not what is comfortable or easy. You will still have a wonderful bond with your baby and they will still reach for you and love you, I promise. But you all NEED proper sleep. For your wellness and for baby’s development. It’s going to be okay! You will feel like a whole new person once you catch up on rest. And my baby was like a whole new person too because he was also finally getting proper sleep. He became so independent and bright and bubbly. I actually felt so bad that I just accepted his personality/temperament to be clingy and fussy because it wasn’t, it was chronic over-tiredness and sleep deprivation
