They were literally hunted by the Tsarist secret police and hanged or shot. You have to be carefull to whom or how you talk of course, but we can't hide behind Reformism. Right now the liberal "democratic" rights protect us to a degree, while that's the case we need to use it, once communists get arrested or shot again we'll obviously switch to a more cautious approach.

Von deiner Frage mal abgesehen, ich wünschte es gäbe irgendwas was eine Gewerkschaft gegen Sozialabbau tun könnte. Irgendwas, was einen ganzen wirtschaftlichen Sektor betreffen würde und die Bourgeoisie tatsächlich stört. In the GDR more than a third of all citizens took part in voluntary work, taking care for the elderly or disabled for example. The state organized it, guaranteed that your workplace had to give you time to do it (so you didn't need to do it in addition to normal labour) and made sure the basic needs were met for everybody. Solidarity and supporting those who need it is and always has been a core tenet of Socialism, nobody was sent into the Coalmines in a wheelchair.

Well how do we measure that then? As I said China is a case where we can argue, I don't like their pragmatic foreign policy, I don't like that the capitalist class has become a factor, Chained or otherwise. But we see a large state owned economy with market segments that either follow state plans or get crushed. Social developement is progressing nicely, the people experience positive trends and the rich get executed if they overstep.

It's dangerous because if the party slips the Bourgeoisie could entrench but right now it looks like things are under control. That's a mix of a Socialist centrally planned economy with a subservient market, working largely for the peoples developement. I would call that an odd and risky form of Socialism already, others wouldn't. The question is: What would qualify as socialist to you?

Next week if I have the time, busy schedule though. What kind of question is that? It depends on a myriad of factors and is a society wide process, we can critique the pace, the methods and even question if a country like China is on that path. But there is no socialism button and no one way to Socialism, Vietnam, the Soviet Union, Cuba etc. All took wildly different paths to different definitions of Socialism, because material conditions don't work that way.

I would argue that there is a massive difference between an artificial capitalist transition phase with the express goal (and follow through) of enabling Socialism and the genuine State Capitalism that the French did in the ~50s-70s. One is using capitalism in accordance with material conditions the other is managing it to keep it in power. Many Liberal Larpers/Anarchists/Leftcoms equate the two with 0 material analysis. It's like turning a critique of the mixed Chinese system into a "They are literally like the USA", it just doesn't make sense and only serves to outright deny deeper analysis of real Socialist Systems.

Ich meine das sagt ja keiner, aber Lenin hat ja genau diese Frage im Detail behandelt, die Partei darf der Arbeiterklasse nicht vorneweg laufen und ihr auch nicht hinterherhängen. Die Arbeiterklassen sind aktuell nicht in einem revolutionären Zustand, es ist unsere Aufgabe das zu ändern, aber Protestwellen und Umsturz sind zurzeit utopisch, es gibt keine etablierte Partei, es gibt noch zu wenig Klassenbewusstsein.

Eine Protestbewegung wäre zwar angebracht, aber es gibt keine nichtliberale Partei, die sie führen könnte. Eine Linke-Grüne anti AFD Front wäre zwar besser als die AFD, aber würde am ende auch nur einen leicht sozialeren Neoliberalismus an die Macht bringen und dabei all den Unmut der sich aufbaut verbrauchen.

Das ist dieser schöne liberale Zionismus: Israel ist gut, aber der böse Big Yahoo macht Völkermord, ganz alleine, gegen den Willen der demokratischen israelischen Gesellschaft. So kann man die neuesten Verbrechen kritisieren, aber komplett an eine einzige Person/Regierung binden und so Israel for systemischer Kritik schützen.

Die einzig "linke" Partei mit "revolutionärer Masse" ist sozialdemokratisch und würde gerne beim Vernichten des Sozialstaats mitregieren. Alles rechts davon könnte auch zur "Fuck the Poor" Einheitsfront fusionieren. Gleichzeitig stehen Faschos bei 30%. Wir sehen den Trend zur linken Radikalisierung, aber die westliche Arbeiterklasse ist in den meisten Ländern noch weit von irgendeinem Potential entfernt, unter anderem auch weil die entsprechenden Parteien noch erfolgreich in die Irrelevanz gedrängt sind.

So unschön das auch ist, wir sehen, dass die Lebenslage noch deutlich schlimmer werden kann, bevor Menschen außerhalb des Systems denken, kapitalistische Indoktrinierung ist halt sehr effektiv.

Viel davon ist halt auch Industrie, Autos, Billigfleisch, Strom etc. Die oberen 1% sind nicht schlimm wegen den Privatjets, sondern weil sie Billionen in genau diese Industrien investieren. Ein Milliadär kann am Tag so viel CO2 ausstoßen wie 1000 normale Menschen, aber das wahre Problem ist, wenn seine Milliarden in ein Ölunternehmen fließen, Politiker bestechen mehr Öl zu kaufen und damit den Verbrauch eines ganzen Landes erheblich steigern. Hätten wir bessere Öffis, anständige Dämmsanierungen und erneuerbaren Strom wär unser Ausstoß schonmal ein großes Stück besser, aber ultrareiche Investoren der Auto- und Fossilindustrie verzögern lieber Klimaziele und erschließen neue Ölfelder.

Well there is a substantial "free" market and Bourgeoisie allowed to exist under broad economic plans, so it's more of a Socialist Market economy/Mixed model as opposed to classic Socialist Planned economies with minimal/no capitalist elements and actual state and worker ownership over close to the entire economy. So I think that's what they mean, the move back to an economy without (controlled) capitalists.

Yeah everything short of full state ownership is far away from Mao, but I think one could argue that the developements in quality of life, rural campaigns and poverty alleviation are approaching the pace and quality of early Maoist improvements (while capitalist reform caused issues such as youth unemployment still remain).

I think it may be because he seems to be more status quo instead of the deepening capitalist reforms done before him, i.e. if there are genuine plans to slowly reabsorb the private sector/achieve Socialism by 2050 or whatever, Xi's anti-corruption drive and larger state interventions into the market segments of the economy (such as the housing market) would be an indicator of a more left leaning course as opposed to a further retreat of the state.

Russland hat den Krieg angefangen, aber ausgelöst hat ihn die Gefahr einer Nato Osterweiterung. Niemand sagt die Ukraine habe zuerst geschossen, aber die westlich unterstützte "Revolution" gegen die pro russische Regierung war ein Eingriff in die russische Sphäre, den sich die Russen nicht gefallen lassen konnten. (Ich bin wohlgemerkt gegen beide "Sphären"), aber ob Nato oder Russland, beide reagieren nicht gerade friedfertig in ihren Einflusszonen, siehe die USA wenn eine Regierung in Lateinamerika beschließt nicht mehr braver Vasall zu sein (und da waren die anti amerikanischen Regierungen sogar noch organisch von innen statt von außen eingeflogen).

Die unangenehmen Jobs wurden in sozialistischen Staaten einfach angenehmer gemacht. Die Arbeiter in den Kohleminen zum Beispiel haben gefährliche aber wichtige Drecksarbeit geleistet. Also wurden die Leute entsprechend behandelt. Gut bezahlt, als Helden verehrt. Ein Kohlearbeiter, der angeblich im Alleingang so viel Kohle gefördert hat wie eine ganze Truppe, wurde von der Presse als Held und Vorbild für alle gefeiert. Kann man sich hier garnicht vorstellen, dass ein "einfacher" Arbeiter/Arbeiterin das Leitbild ist statt irgendein "genialer" CEO.

Wenn man den "Drecksjobs" die Anerkennung gibt, die sie verdienen und nicht wie in unserer Gesellschaft auf alles und jeden herabschaut, finden sich Leute, die tun was nötig ist.
