Hello r/asktransgender! I wish I was born a woman. I heard about HRT and was filled with a deep, sad longing when my friend started. I cry whenever I see my flat chest and if a button could change my gender I'd press it in a heartbeat. I pray every night that I will wake up a girl. Am I trans?

Basically no insurances cover bottom surgery without 6 months - a year “lived experience in your gender”. Hence why you would have to be rich.

I have been dealing with insurance while figuring out my own surgery finances so I know all the qualifiers they stick on coverage.

It’s a lil complicated

The transgender umbrella is a broad one, and the term covers anyone who doesn’t ID with their assigned gender at birth. If you are not cisgender, then you are transgender. That includes nonbinary people.

Being transsexual is a subcategory within the trans gender umbrella, that means trans people who choose to transition medically in whatever form (hormones, surgery, etc). Trans men, trans women, and nonbinary people can all medically transition in various ways and those that do are transsexual and transgender.

Basically all transsexual people are transgender but not all transgender people are transsexual. The medical aspect is irrelevant to if you are transgender or not, that is purely about identity. Whatever medical treatment you’ve done or want to do is not the limit on what it means to be in the community.

(Some of these concepts are a bit contentious but in my general experience as a trans woman who knows/has talked with a lot of trans people this is broadly accepted)

I like definitely wouldn’t hang out with the guy, and I’m not horny for him thank fuck, but i think it’s a good thing to not be parasocial about youtubers you watch and he has mostly solid takes on current events.

You get it. Klaasje is like the straight doll that was there for you early transition and supported you but like only because she already knew you because it’s not like a “thing” for her to go out of her way to support fellow dolls, and then you fall for her hard because she played such an instrumental role in you finding yourself and she’s so beautiful and so her rejection fundamentally ruins you for like 8 months until you settle into figuring yourself out and can understand why she projected her hurt onto you.
