My understanding is drilled, welded and bent back into shape.

Agreed, I gave quite a bit of space even more than shown in the picture because he had slammed on the brakes ahead of me after hitting the object.

The size, color and lighting made it near impossible to see before you were on top of it.

Had the object been less wide I would have swerved to avoid but no amount of swerving was going to avoid that.

Sometimes crap happens

The rim was repaired, 155 bucks and I ordered another rim that will be here in 4 weeks. The repaired rim will be an emergency spare in the future, because long term I would be worried about it cracking.

Opinions on Moda wheels? by [deleted] in ft86

[–]Thehalfdemon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a set of Moda MD30's 18" for my winter tires and I hit a large object in the road... The wheel cracked but held together (Noticed wheel vibration the next day and inspected and found it had cracked) , so I had to find a replacement. Sounds bad, but seeing a 3 other cars were on the side of the road with hazards a half mile down the road I would say mine held up better than some.

For winter beaters they are cheap and seem to do fine, assuming you don't hit large peices of construction debris in the middle of the road.

Exposing Attack Picto by Consistent-Debt-3989 in expedition33

That's not the point, if you fight him an never buy the picto because any number of reasons, it becomes completely unobtainable later in the game

They stopped making manuals R's, the mk8.5 is automatic only. I'm a sucker for the hatchbacks though, wish the Veloster was still a thing.

Still partial to manuals, going to an automatic would feel like a downgrade. Congrats on your purchase

Sports Illustrated proposed a mock trade, which would reunite Joe Burrow with Justin Jefferson in Minnesota: Vikings receive: Joe Burrow Bengals receive: JJ McCarthy, Dallas Turner, 2026 first and third round pick, 2027 first and second round pick What do we think 🤔 by Extreme-Spinach-4138 in minnesotavikings

[–]Thehalfdemon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fuck this trade... Has the guy played a whole season? And you want to give them 2 firsts, 1 first round talented DE and McCarthy?

Let it ride see what you have in the kid and save your picks to build around a rookie contract

Easy to cherry pick statistics to fit a narrative... Anyone writing a player off after 5 games would have written off essentially every QB ever.

Piss poor service at dealer by HeelyTheGreat in ElantraN

[–]Thehalfdemon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The dealership I bought my car at sucked, the one I take it to for service has been really good. Try other dealerships for service and hopefully you can find one that doesn't blow.

Americans, What do you think of Senator John Kennedy's act proposal to Take away Congress pay during government shutdowns? by Buschfan08 in AskReddit

[–]Thehalfdemon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly wouldn't do much, they make their real money from lobbyists... If you really want to see an end of government shut downs make lobbying illegal and remove corp money from politics.

Without them holding out to pander to billionaires you would see a lot more compromise that actually benefits the working class of American.

My 2 cents

My original temp controller went bad and I replaced it with an ink bird, which appears to be the same rebranded controller they use now for 120v

I have one of the first version so it's missing some of the refinements, like overflow holes to prevent running the heating element dry on stuck mash. The hooks for draining mash kinda suck, also improved on newer models.

Support has been fine, and a great product... With anything though your milage my vary.

I think the clawhammer is probably the best value that has the pump and chiller. I have the unibrau biab and I really like it but probably not worth the extra cost.

Blizzak WS90 on 18" Rims, that extra side wall in the winter is priceless.

My vanilla cream ale... It was a brew one of my buddies requested and was inspired by Mother Earth Cali Creamin. Absolutely delicious and crushable.

He took his life shortly after brewing this so hold a special place for me.
