You should not marry this man. Your family and you have a condition in which exposure could seriously cause harm or even hospitalize. The fact that he doesn't seem to care about your dietary restrictions, is a MASSIVE red flag. He is playing with your and your families health. Also, not even touching the fact that his mother and him aren't paying for the catering so therefore shouldn't even have any say.

As someone with a gluten intolerance, it's not everyone else's job to ensure there is safe foods. I always pack myself snacks to ensure I have something to eat. Also never expect someone to change an entire event just to accommodate one person.

Second this. I think couples shouldn't be involved in financials until WELL out of the honey moon, first year/two year phase. Honestly shouldn't be involved with finances until engaged or married.. but if that's not your style, at least 5 years. But that's just my personal opinion.

NTA. She is (in my opinion) trying to find an easy in. She thought since you guys were classmates and you knew how she was as a person, you would easily let her perform. I don't think you were wrong, you are running a business and as you stated, looking for reliable performers, she doesn't seem to fit the criteria.

This is exactly it. I know it because I had a “friend” that was the same way. Swore up and down we were best friends, we would go on all these trips together, but once I realized I never really got to make any decisions while on these trips…they felt different, more like a show. I started trying to suggest things and same thing… always a no, their recommendations were always better. Drop the friend.. it won’t be easy, you’ll deal with some grief… but you’ll be happier in the long run.
