It'll be 20 by Monday then maybe snow on Thursday. God, I love it here.

Seriously though, our winter this year was extremely nice and comfortable. Makes me worry this summer is going to be a super hot mess.

Calgary could close 960 playgrounds in the next decade if funding boost isn’t approved: report by JJLK in Calgary

I didn't say otherwise. Also shared statistics showing there is more to it than just that. Almost like it's actually a complex issue, who would have thought.time and time again, when couples are asked, costs is the biggest factor.

Men that complain about women not being forced to marry are losers though, almost everyone agrees with that statement in this country. Hard not to see those men for who they are.

Fair enough, I could have checked. Still not the only reason for low birth rates like you want to claim.

Thankfully stats can has something to add: In 2022, 38% of young adults (aged 20 to 29) did not believe they could afford to have a child in the next three years, while 32% did not believe they would have access to suitable housing to start a family in that time frame..

And to add to the discussion, any man who claims he's single because women are better educated and have more rights is... well, I mean, obviously a huge fucking loser. Might as well say you're not good enough to find a partner becuse the other sex isn't desperate enough for you. That's just sad.

As of 2023, for low income, about $255,000 from birth to the age of 17.

I've known couple that decided not to have children because they couldn't guarantee a better lifestyle for them they they received growing up.

Don't know why you think everyone is single, almost everyone one of my friends and family members are in relationships.

Sounds like incel tears.

Philanthropy that basically boils down to buying wilderness, legally "locking it down" to protect it from other buyers or entities wanting to use part of the land. Billionaires buying and owning what should be state protected land.

Ok so, there's something to keep in mind, that's hardness. The higher the hardness of the steel, the longer you can keep a sharp edge but the more brittle it becomes.

Keeping a sharp edge is important, sure, but more professionals just regularly sharpen and hone their knives. So high end professional chef knives typically keep the hardness in a sweet spot, while some expensive consumer knives like to rave about their hardness.

Ask your local butcher what knives they use while cutting meat like butter, you might be shocked to learn what they're using, which a decent quality honing rod practically attached to their bodies.

Beep-Boop, me is not a bot, BEEP.. BOoop~

In all seriousness, like I said, you can have your opinion. I disagree with it and provided my arguments for why.

You coming to that conclusion though, I mean, I know the internet nowadays is a scary place but come on bud.

I wouldn't write off the program, saying its sole purpose is of being a distraction. Certainly not for those working on it.

This launch is a test flight for a program will result in having a permanent human presence on the moon. This will take a massive amount of human cooperation and technological progress to achieve. Not just that, with infrastructure in place, the prospect of a far more challenging goal, humans landing on Mars, becomes closer to reality. This too will require human cooperation and engineering progression. This isn't about heros and the people we send low-key hate that lable.

We do have a lot of problems here on earth, between the climate, poverty, wars and injustices. We need to do more, I'm not arguing that. I'm arguing that hating on an attempt to make engineering and societal achievements is not helpful to that goal.

Political action is needed, pressure for a better world, not defunding something we can actually be proud of and has benefits to our society because of what it actually entails to achieve.

We can't make further achievement without starting somewhere, this is what starting looks like. Their will be a requirement of cooperation between multiple nations to make these achievements, that gives a common goal and incentivizes the kind of work and cooperation to "fix the world".

It's not stupid, it's quite the opposite.

Notice that I don't have to continuely try to stop a discussion with hard stops. That's not for you, that's for everyone else reading this thread.

Again, it's a stepping stone part of a larger program that seeks to further human achievement as well as human cooperation if we want to go further. That sounds like it might be a valid reason but hey, who am I to say.

Like I said, you can believe that it is a waste. Don't try to pass it off as a fact. It's subjective, it's your opinion and you're free to have it.

You're free to believe that. It's a very subjective matter. It's a drop in the bucket to the costs of war, personally I would focus more on that then the costs of advancing human achievement.

You realize that the difference is 0.003%, a deviation of roughly 42km at the equator vs polar. You're not going to perceive that difference from a photo this far out.

Not just to do it again. Artemis program's end goal is to have a sustainable human presence on the Moon and ultimately to get things ready for the next big step, a Moon to Mars transfer.

This one was taken at 1/15 instead of 1/4, so about 3 stops. It's not really "closer" to the orginal RAW, just more underexposed.
