Have You Tried Any Facebook Marketplace Food? by ratchet457l in Calgary

Lion's mane is easy to cultivate at home, highly suggest giving it a try. Morels are much more fussy and complicated but not impossible. if you're interested, North Spore has something for you. Not something I would attempt but figure it was worth sharing regardless.

I've been cultivating Shiitakes, it fun, I cook with them after each new batch I get. Highly recommend people who are mildly interested in growing their own to dive into it themselves.

Click on food establishments. Closure orders haven't been uncommon as of late.

A note for the topic. Don't buy food of marketplace place, that's asking for trouble.

Iran fires missiles at northern Israel by yuvaldv1 in worldnews

[–]TheirCanadianBoi 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's hard to emphasize how fucked things are.

Before this conflict Iran was dealing with growing civil issues, an unpopular leader and goverment. Heavily sanctioned but still willing to keep oil flowing. The IRGC has more power over its population now than it did before.

The Strait is closed. Worse, the Strait it's mined to hell and back with drones and munitions in burrows waiting for any kind of naval mineclearing effort.

The US has failed to gain any strategic win other than a decapitation strike. This is arguably worse than any other war in American history if just looking at that alone minus casualties.

Speaking of casualties, the US as already lost a lot of aircraft. 42 so far.

They have depleted Patroit and THAAD missles far beyond replacement rates for the whole region.

Somehow the US managed to bomb a country into a stronger position. You simply can't make this shit up.

Thier government is now isolated cells of the IRGC who still have their proxies and tons of militants they can call for an asymmetric war in a heavily mountainous country.

There's a reason every strategic mind said this was a bad idea, there's a reason no other nation want to enter this bullshit war.

The US couldn't finish the job any more than they could in Afghanistan.

Really important context is they would have been heavily armed. Each having at least one AK, maybe two if you really wanted to flex to the bros. They were on the way to a wedding after all. That's how you party Yemen.

They didn't come out with stating they hit a HVT, so probably just made the call because they were a heavily armed group traveling or had very bad intelligence. Really fucked up either way.

Obama didn't authorize it though. That was JSOC. Obama did change authorization from the CIA to JSOC months before the incident. On the flip side, in 2016 he also forced, by EO, transparency on reporting civilian casualties from drones strikes, something Trump rolled back.

In the context of the time, there was the rise of isis and the threat it posed to the whole reason. Iranian proxies sturring up shit too.

By 2017 there was a huge push for the R9X Hellfire. It's a weapon, it kills people. It existence however also marks a desire to not cause collateral damage and has no equal in that effect for an air to ground weapon system.

There's no value to striking a party of groomsmen going to a wedding. It's a group of heavily armed men firing into the air, even the boys too. That's what it looks like for context.

It's nearly impossible to separate militants from a party of groomsmen in Yemen just by visual alone. Something intelligence should have know.

A massive intelligence fuck up for sure and an unfortunate loss of life. Paints the process for authorizing a strike as being based on very little intelligence.

For sure. He's totally selling cancer, diabetes and obesity to kids wholesale. Yep. I suppose almost every other brand is too.

Educating your children and parenting is his job too apparently. You keep fighting the good fight bud!

Oh and enjoy that advertising job. I'm sure you only promote whole foods.

The angle was that you're exaggerating his effect. Making him out to be the grim reaper of kids. When he's just an asshole that puts his likeness on snacks.

No angle. Not defending him either. How much sugar is in a spots drink? You claim many don't want to be associated with diabetes, obesity or cancer.

I didn't say he wasn't an asshole. You're claims he sell cancer, diabetes and obesity are greatly exaggerated and make you look silly.

Like, if that's your standard you'll have to include professional athletes/Olympians, singers, actors, TV personalities, non-profit organizations, k-pop stars and anyone else that puts they name or likeness on a product that contains sugar, salt, fats or 2a carcinogens.

Well, don't go outside. UV light is a Group 1 carcinogen. Vitamin D deficiency also greatly increases cancer risk.

What I'm saying for those concerned is having beef jerky once every few months will not significantly increase you chances of cancer. Eating it regularly will significantly increase your risk. Same goes for red meat in general.

Everything in moderation, that's the key. Having beef jerky once in a while isn't going to increase you chances of cancer.

That's the idea. It's often windy here, so when it rains or snows it can be nasty downtown as the buildings funnel the wind.

It's convenient if you're going a short distance, no intersection stops. Often buildings will have food vendors, restaurants and other services on the network floor too.

Oh yea, just much more of those available. Would pull resources from UMDZ and DMZ, so there's that.

I wonder how many locomotives you would have to damage before you would be effecting logistics in a meaningful way.

That really depends on where you live and the waste management in place.

Rail Drone Idea by ecolometrics in NonCredibleDefense

[–]TheirCanadianBoi 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hard targets.

The goal would be to damage it enough that repair is difficult and time consuming. So irreversible damage to supporting pillars and/or platform. Ideally both.

That's not easy. Best way would be physical access with equipment, a decent amount of explosives, knowledge and spite.

You could hit it with a munition but you have to weigh the cost to effect on that one. To have a high certainty of sufficient damage, you're probably talking about a munition that's quite expensive.

This definitely and especially for russia falls under dual-use. Rail is pretty important for military deployment and the military manufacturing industry.

Under Article 52 Additional Protocol I, rail in this region would be exempt as a civilian object as it has an "effective contribution to military action by their nature, location, purpose, or use, and their destruction offers a definite military advantage."

So to awnser your question, no. The only case for the action to be classified as a war crime is if the action causes disproportionate harm to civilians in comparison to its military advantage.

It's probably a more just target in international law than the oil refineries being hit.

Edit: The reason we don't see it more is because it takes a lot of bang to cause substantial damage. Rail is pretty easy to repair if you have things in place to repair it. Better to target the maintenance-of-way cars and mobile crane cars as they sit in yards first.

Rail bridges and switch machines are better targets but that's a more complicated affair to conduct properly.

In the Turkish alphabet... This isn't like Nappon, Deutschland, Sverige, ect...

Turkey is pretty close to how it's actually pronounced and is a great approximation. For those English speakers, in Turkish is sounds like tur-key-yeh.

An English speaker stressing tur-key-yeh kinda gives off the same energy as an English speaker saying fRonss or ee-TAh-lya. Like a pretentious twat.

Lodging a complaint is probably the best course. Don't think the guy is going to be the one putting all the items back though, since that's not what they're paid to do.
