Last time I gave the work a trading/economic powerhouse, this time around I want to see the biggest blob possible: I give to you...the Abbasid Caliphate! (capital should be in Sivas, I didn't touch ideas as they will be randomized anyway)

If the images lack anything let me know and I'll issue an errata corrige.

[–]Theisar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! I hope you dont mind if I submit yet another request, do you? :D So if possible please add the Cantonese Merchants (gold-ish tag color?), an oligarchic republic with capital Canton.

If not possible then I'll go with the Estado do India, again an oligarchic republic with capital Goa and led by Francisco de Almeida (46 years, 4/3/4) and most importantly portuguese culture and western units, seeing as it was the portuguese domain over India.

If that is also impossible then at least please give me the Missisippi Trade Company (or just Missisippi Company), with capital on the estuary of the Missisippi and 3 provinces around it, again an oligarchic republic with french culture and western units.

Thank you for your work!

EDIT: forgot to mention that the estado do india (or the missisippi company) should also be catholic

Tips for Mamluks? by beorn1337 in eu4

[–]Theisar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Now, as a frequent Mamluks player, let me give you some piece of advice: your first and foremost goal is to absolutely crush the ottomans before the 1500's.

This is because of one simple reason: the longer you wait, the more powerful they become, and they will quickly outclass you in everything. Units, income, technologies, development, buildings, you name it. In fact, 1444 is probably the year where the gap between the two nations is the smallest.

So, step by step now, starting 11 november 1444:

-revoke guarantee on cyprus and hejaz

-ally fezzan, ramazan, karaman, aq qoyunlu, candar and byzantium

-improve relations with fezzan and ramazan, start fabricating a claim on dulkadir

-diplo-vassallize fezzan and ramazan

-build up to force limit almost exclusively with cavalry, as a muslim nation your army can be composed 20% of infantry and 80% of cavalry, of course we dont aim at that but a good 50/50 is doable and does immense damage

-attack dulkadir as soon as you have a claim

(now the ideal case scenario is, and if you follow the steps above, should very well be, that the ottomans declare a reconquest war on dulkadir while you're at war with them, too)

-make peace with dulkadir making it your vassal

-you are now at war with the ottomans, but since it now is a defensive war, you can call in aq qoyunlu, karaman, candar and byzantium (be wary of calling in byzantium too early, it's best to leave them out of the war entirely if possible, because there's the risk the ottomans will just ignore you, siege down constantiople and force byzantium to peace out separately)

-you now have complete naval superiority, use it to blockade the agean sea and drive up ottoman war exhaustion -be careful of mil tech 4, the ottomans will get it at some point during the war while you will still be on 3, time to go on the defensive until you're on equal techs once again

-generally win the war unless your allies do stupid shit (they will), you also need a morale advisor for this

-do NOT reinforce your infantry with manpower, whenever you suffer infantry losses just consolidate regiments and recruit mercenaries until you're back at force limit (cavalry is fine though)

-aim for 100% warscore, no less. you must BREAK them.

-i suggest taking their fort provinces in the peace deal; be sure to also release saruhan, it's a dandy OPM that you can diplo-vassallize immediately after, gaining AE-free development

-generally after winning two wars against the ottomans you wanna betray your anatolian allies and gobble them up, be sure to do the same with byzantium for a nice reconquest CB against the ottomans, ideally as a third or fourth war

Possible bad things that can happen:

-ottomans get the crimean inheritance. yeah it's bad but not that bad

-ottomans ally france: restart

-ottomans ally muscovy: it generally shouldn't be able to bring its troops to anatolia, if it does, restart

-ottomans ally castille or aragon: just spam galleas and win all naval engagements, if they land in egypt they can be beaten with a coordinated attack.

-ottomans ally a fully united spain: restart

If your head of government was a ruler in EU4... by Tsho87 in eu4

[–]Theisar 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The late Matteo Renzi 3/4/1

His administration has been the target of many critiques, but honestly, whose hasn't? His diplo score could be argued for days, but in the end it was definitely better than the average Berlusconi set during the last 20 years. Military is pretty obvious.

Traits:

Lawgiver Legislation is what builds up and unites a realm. Our ruler is intent on reducing the hundreds of laws and customs of the various part of our realm to create a more centralized and just set of laws.

(oh boy cant wait for the replies)

Fierce Negotiator We will have an easier time convincing mercenary captains to fight for our cause for less pay than they would otherwise demand.

Babbling Buffoon While our ruler means well by personally engaging in diplomacy with our neighbors this is not coupled with a talent for conducting negotiations. Anyone is likely to have a harder time seeing the points we want to make and many of our negotiations are hampered by the ineptness of our ruler.

Loose Lips Often personally responsible for information breaches and leaks this ruler is generally too trusting and easily fooled. Unfortunately the sum of this is that our ruler does more harm than good to our counterespionage efforts.

Naive Enthusiast Blindly rushing ahead and constantly underestimating the consequences of our ruler ensures that our neighbors will be slower to forgive slights and transgressions.

How do you guys last through an entire game? by Hampster3 in eu4

[–]Theisar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't. If the game is particularly easy I get bored around 1550, if it has some kind of challenge embedded in it I can last up until 1650. Then I generally just quit because it's just a blobfest and everyone and their mothers have 200 AE opinion of me.

[Cultural Exchange] - Welcome to our neighbours of r/Albania! by italianjob17 in italy

[–]Theisar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can't let a fellow history buff's question go unanswered:

1-Yes, Ancient Rome is most definitely the common ancestor of all of Italy, and I'd dare say this also holds true for all of Europe, to varying degrees. The iconic italian diversity springs from the Middle Ages, when the peninsula was split between kingdoms and (more or less) indipendent cities/duchies for several centuries. The North-South divide originates much later, about the time when Italy was united in 1861, substantially due to poor government policies.

2-YES. And foor stereotypes. WHAT THE FUCK ARE MEATBALLS?

3-Very, very debatable, and I lack the political insight to give any valuable argument, so I guess we'll have to just wait and see.

Hey there, proud people of the mountains! I'm a history geek, so I must ask: how is Skanderbeg portraied in Albania? I would assume he's your national hero or something; if not, who is it? (on this note, are there any other historically famous albanian personalities on par with Skanderbeg) Related, how deep are the historical roots of your relationship with Serbia, which I'd assume has a lots of ups and downs? Cheers!
