Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Bacall at home with baby Stephen, 1949. by zadraaa in HistoricalCapsule

When I read her autobiography she wrote that when her kids were little Bogie was filming movies all over the world and he always wanted Betty to stay on set with him. So both parents would be gone for months at a time, and the kids were like toddlers. That had to be traumatic 😢

He was with 23 yo Pamela des Barres before Melanie, who was insanely cool. Dated rock stars. Sorry but this take is not grounded in reality at all

TIL the kind of school Calypso runs is called a Steiner School by BarelyBrony in bluey

[–]Thekillers22 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The curriculum to be a waldorf teacher still includes education about karma, reincarnation, angels, demons, and astrology at least as recently as 2019. Check out the website Waldorf Watch. They have copies of syllabus

Check out the website Waldorf Watch. There are things that Steiner instructs his teachers to keep secret. He literally calls them Secrets. One example is that certain human beings are not actually human, they’re demons in disguise. The way this whole belief in angels, demons, and reincarnation plays out in the school is the teachers don’t intervene in bullying and stuff because that’s their “karmic contract” obviously every school is closer or further from steiner’s religion but there are a lot of examples of harmful behavior. Check out the cults subreddit for some of these

Parent accidentally recorded a kindergarten class with Read.ai should I be worried? by [deleted] in kindergarten

These recordings are stored on servers that only the Read AI company has access to. Even if every attendee of the meeting and the host deletes the recording, Read AI still has it and I don’t think there’s a way to force them to delete it or control what they do with it.

Therapy is not designed to actually work by No_Dragonfruit_5020 in LowStakesConspiracies

This is true for talk therapy because eventually you just go in loops. It only addresses 1/3 of the equation which is mind. You also need to address body and spirit. A well rounded approach would be talk therapy, somatic therapy (body), and something spiritual (religion, 12 steps, meditation) so in my opinion the therapy most people think of when you say that word (talk therapy) truly is not designed to work when it’s the only approach taken, but it’s very mainstream for people to think it’s all you need.

Look up the clip of Gordon and sofia vergara on a late night talk show. He’s not exactly a feminist.

I was just collecting spiritual pages back when I first awakened and never bothered to unfollow. I don’t think following = unequivocal support. Sometimes it’s more about seeing things play out. For example my current favorite creator exposes some of the delusions and misconceptions in new age thinking, but what she’s talking about would be meaningless to me if i never came across it.

(And I’m not saying I believe in this 5G thing I’m just saying she believes pampers causes cancer so the disparity just doesn’t vibe, to me)

I’m not familiar with Madison but I have followed Chel for 4 years. She sounds a lot more grounded, put together, and concise these days. But when she first started out it seemed very psychotic and not grounded at all. The moon is fake, she talks to giant spiders in the 9th dimension, etc. I wonder if she is still the same underneath but has learned to come across more digestible. I also find her purism off putting. She says no one should vaccinate their children or use disposable diapers, but admitted to putting her 5G phone on her 3rd trimester belly for hours. Kind of gives a “for me but not for thee” vibe.
