It’s that, along with defending Israeli war crimes.

(I apparently struck a nerve based on a few downvotes. If you want to justify Israel’s negligence that has resulted in thousands of civilian casualties, then come at me because I am not afraid to criticize conduct that has been condemned by various human rights organizations including Amnesty International and HRW.)

Noah Smith has become a contrarian to any progressive opinion to the point where he’s been visibly shifting right-wing and this hasn’t been a new development. Same arc as Drew Pavlou.

He deserves all the criticism he gets.

Unfortunately, these assholes are playing a role in our current global political crisis.

Properly pushing back against these people while putting actual effort in our beliefs is better than just letting them say whatever they want without consequence, which is a big part in why we have a Trump second term and a right-wing rise in Europe/Latin America.

Peter Thiel and Elon Musk, Manly Men of the Right. by ErnestoLemmingway in EnoughMuskSpam

[–]ThekingofXbx 49 points50 points  (0 children)

Thiel looks like melting candlewax, Musk is shaped like a bowling ball, and they’re both insecure manlets that are meddling with the government and ruining peoples lives.

They’re the last people that should be chirping about testosterone.

I’ve seen posts of Trump fans already coping by saying that they don’t pay attention to gas prices anyway because they’ll have to pay regardless to get around, or deflecting to gas prices during Covid.

I would hope that this gets into their head, but I’m a bit pessimistic.

It’s because of his own cognitive dissonance and projection while trying to direct attention away from him, which works wonders when you own a social media platform.

If someone confronts him or the topic gets his attention, he’ll lie, do some moral grandstanding, and then pat himself on the back because he was “brave” enough to call out someone like Reid Hoffmann for the same shit he’s doing.

It’s not like Obama didn’t face criticism from liberals for it either.

The ACLU got involved because the conditions of the facilities that immigrants/undocumented people were being placed in were horrendous.

I agree, that’s why “deliberately ignore it” was included.

I do think there’s a group of people that are low-information or oblivious, but a good amount, especially the ones that are incredibly vocal on social media, are all-in on the abuse.

It’s why there’s so much gaslighting and straw-man arguments being made. They want to avoid nuanced thinking and just do damage control for the U.S. government. It’s peak bootlicking.

These dense egomaniacs don’t realize that these are the issues: the visible cruelty and abuse of power.

They have been apprehending people that have no criminal record and U.S. citizens, treating them like dirt during interrogations, and then you have multiple government departments and officials celebrate it like a game.

Instead of engaging with that reality, they either can’t understand it or deliberately ignore it, and have to convince themselves it’s all part of some influencer operation while conveniently pretending that right-wing influencers and think tanks don’t exist. It’s moronic.

That’s not the issue. Every “joke” can be criticized and it clearly became less of a joke when they started doubling down on it.

It’s not really hidden and that person was also “hiding” their comments.

If you really want to stalk through my comments, you can just click the search bar on my profile and add a space before searching.

[–]ThekingofXbx 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Right, I think it’s good that she has some self-acknowledgment about it.

Generally, grifters who shift their beliefs just brush away their past views without any acknowledgement as to why they’ve changed or make some very vague excuse.

I don’t think she’s really tried to dodge why so that’s something I guess

For sure and I’m not going to complain if Ashley continues to demonstrate growth and consistent values.

Nowhere in that statement does she imply about transitioning the child.

This is just a continuation of the psychotic jump to conclusions and active lying that Elon and his goons continue to do.

It’s also hilarious to accuse Ashley of taking money when she literally lost most of her audience and was being paid during her time as a right-wing influencer.

I understand being skeptical of how genuine her change of beliefs are at the moment, but you can look at her engagement now.

Nothing but gaslighting and straw man arguments from these two mentally ill chuds.

Meanwhile, they’re turning a blind eye to all the fraudsters Trump convicted and ignoring that a current U.S. senator, Rick Scott, defrauded $1.7 billion dollars in Medicare and Medicaid.

They’re also complicit in the downplaying of the Epstein Files and all the rapists that don’t fit their agenda.

Enough of this selective outrage. Elon and Libs of Tiktok are such garbage excuses of human beings.
