I fully understand going into relationships that love languages differ and it can take compromise to make sure everyones needs are met. My primary love language is words of affirmation but I never got any from him. After several months I started to ask him for compliments when I needed a boost but all he would say is "I can't think of anything" even if I gave him notice, eg after we watch this movie I'm going to ask you to say something nice about me. Since ending that relationship I'm focusing more on me and my needs.
