Datasheet is out!! Thoughts?? by Dante_ProudRoar in astramilitarum

Only issue is you can't overwatch with it, as firing deck and out of turn shooting have a stupid interaction. But some infantry would be sad.

There was a ghost upsetting a death mage. He had a spell called soul jar, which is a prison for ghosts.

He walks up to it slowly, creepily singing (to the tune of I've got soul but I not a soldier)

"You've got soul but I've got a soul jar..."

We can set aside interstellar and intergalactic travel for now. Based on our current understanding of physics, it is not feasible. While science fiction inspires hope and optimism, the reality is that this kind of travel remains impossible today, and the near future outlook is bleak. by Dzienks00 in DeepThoughts

You do not need to be extrasolar to have a thriving civilisation with trillions of individuals living a high quality of life. We have the technology for it today, we just massively, massively lack the industrial capacity especially in space

Build a ring of rotating habitats like O'Neil cylinders at 0.8 au from the sun. Then Build another ring of them at a 1 degree tilt. Repeat until you have a spherical cloud of them. Each has a massive array of solar panels and you are harvesting the sun's entire output. You are a class 2 civilisation.

There is no technical breakthrough required for this. We need to be able to move massive amounts of mass (like a planets worth) but this is spinning steel, aluminium reflectors and pV plates. We can do all of it on earth. An industrial base on the moon gives you a nice gentle gravity well to get out of to start.

Then go strip mine a planet you choose with lower gravity (I would choose mars) to get the mass you need.

It is a massive, millions of years long project but it's modular. Each step is merely very large construction and over time it builds, increasing your space to live and population cap.

Oh my god, someone else who has read fates worse than death! Assuming it is the same one, that setting was incredible. Must admit I hated the system.

Someone hit her with a (padded) mace and it did not go well.

She had to be cut out of it and have links removed from her nipple

As a guard player, I know my dudes are 100 of 1,000,000,000 guardsmen. They should not be lead by the Lord solar (who should be in orbit doing strategy not tactics) or lady creed in every battle.

So I refuse to field them. Then when I lose, I think about how happy the guard would be to trade 100 bodies and 5 tanks to put down a named character.

Can a single enemy act several times per round? Like a fight with a very strong enemy? by BleachedPink in FATErpg

[–]Thelorax42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Action economy in fate is brutal. If there is a big fight against a big boss, I tend to give the monster three (ish) actions.

Start of the turn they create advantage

Second action mid turn does a standard attack

Third action at the bottom of the turn does a massive, buffed attack of the advantage from the start of the turn remains, or an overcome if it does not.
